Post-Turkey-Coma Marathon
I know it is super late notice, but if you would like to join us for a marathon of 511 this evening/afternoon at 6pm Eastern/3pm Pacific that would be awesome!

(Its extra-speical awesome, because I finally have my DVD player back after 11 months and can watch QAF again!)

*Meep* I forgot how this one begins. I remember the first time I watched it, I was like "WHAT WHO THE FUCK JUST DIED, NOOOOOOOOOO".

Also, I will probs say it like 50,000,000 times, but I want Lindsey's hair in this ep.

"4 dead, 67 wounded, 11 critically" That is actually surprisingly good for how many people were in Babylon during the bombing. I'm not saying that even one death is acceptable, just saying it could have been so so so much worse.

ok when brian tells deb what carl said, and brian replies that he loved her, she has this goofy smile on her face, ( not the right time for that)

justin.."the kind that went to matthew shepards with signs saying your son is burning in hell, the kind we saw driving down liberty ave with bull horns shouting their hate slogans, the kind that voted for prop 14.. still very powerful today unfornately..

Justin gets all the best lines though. "The kind that went to Matthew Shepard's funeral with signs saying 'Your son's burning in hell', the kind we saw driving down Liberty Ave bullhorns shouting their hate slogans, the kind that support proposition 14." Spot on, again, and he looks so resigned to this truth as he says it too-I wonder how much of that is Justin and how much is Randy here...

I have always wondered what the future medical complications, if any, would be of having a spleen removed.

Debbie trying to force Ben to leave, it has always bugged me. He has just as much of a right to be there as Debbie does. He is Michael's husband, he should be the one by his side holding his hand when he wakes up.

[info]babylongirl

It is interesting how the bombimg affected then each differently. Ted, Emmett, but Brian seems the most affected. Not by what he does/says, but how it changes his outlook. He's not acting as if he doesn't care or ignoring what happened (his usual method of coping skills), but embracing it. Even encouraging Ted to do the same.

The scene at the Uni bugs me for two reasons.

1) There is zero chance that Ben would be there under these circumstances. With Michael still in recovery, and not yet awake, he is not going to be teaching his class-he would have canceled it.

2) The way that the students talk to Ben. Telling him that he lives in a bubble and can pass for straight, no student would talk to his/her professor like that, or at least not during a class.

However I do love the comments that the students make because they are spot on, and kinda witty.

The most romantic scene of all the romantic scenes of all time

Seriously, the scene with Brian and Justin in his studio/apartment is my happy place. Also, if it had its own bathroom and kitchen, I would totally want this as my apartment.

Brian's Dream
[info]etextraordinary
2011-11-25 11:50 pm UTC (link)
I love the use of a dreamed death to symbolize the death of the character you once knew and the birth of a new one. Brian did die in the bombing, the Brian who was afraid to let those who he cares about see it, the Brian who was afraid to commit to Justin is dead and the Brian standing in front of us, in front of Justin, is a new Brian.

I also feel like by telling Justin the dream, he was trying to hint at this to Justin but Justin didn't get it and Brian has to try again, in the elaborate way that only Brian can.
