Journal entry 12/11

I hate it here.

I stepped off the plane anticipating a callous, unforgiving city. I never expected I’d be handed a fabulous career tied with a big bow. But, wtf? Last night, a homeless guy offered to share his hooch. Do I look that pathetic?

I miss the Pitts—the vibrant fall foliage, not the single leafless tree I pass daily. I miss the kitschy lawn decorations and mailboxes shaped like Swiss chalets. Fuck, I miss lawns! I miss Mom’s stew, the loft’s fluffy towels, Deb’s nagging, unpretentious clubs.

And Brian… I miss Brian so fucking much.
