Title: Bullies

After school, Brian waited for Michael by the schoolyard gate.

"You look like shit, Mikey! Those guys really did a number on you yesterday."

"I know. My bike is trashed too. Ma was pissed. After you left, she kept insisting that Donnie and Ralphie should be arrested."

Michael lowered his voice, "I don't know what happened, but did you see them today? They look even worse than me! I guess the bullies got bullied!"

"I guess so." Brian said, sounding bored.

As both boys turned to walk home, Brian shouldered his backpack, wincing as the strap rubbed raw, bruised knuckles.
