With his chores done, Michael locked the house, dropped off the trash and headed to his new friend Brian's house.

He was excited. Brian's family was going to be there.

Brian had finally told him about them; his sister, his mom who didn't work, and his dad who liked to bowl.

Brian is so lucky. He thought wistfully.

Michael remembered Brian laughing this weird laugh, and calling him pathetic, when he had told Brian he was jealous.

He just doesn't know how good he has it.

Michael pulled his coat tighter and walked faster.


He couldn't wait to meet them.
