Cheddar and Herb Biscuits
I have been meaning to post this recipe for some time now, and I am just getting around to doing it now-after making three batches.

These biscuits are similar to the Red Lobster cheese biscuits, but I like them better. They have been nicknamed the "You had me at Cheddar" Biscuits and the "Gute gute Käsekekse" (Good good Cheese biscuits). I made them for Thanksgiving and again for an English teacher Christmas party and both times they were gobbled up. They are super simple to make and very delicious! I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!

“You had me at Cheddar” Biscuits

2C (250g) flour
2tsp baking powder
1tsp salt
1tsp sugar
1tsp garlic powder
Pinch of cayenne pepper
1 large egg
2 tbsp freshly chopped chives
1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
1.5C (170g) grated Cheddar cheese
1C (250mL) buttermilk
4 tbsp melted butter

Preheat the oven to 350 F (176 C). Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, chives and parsley in a large bowl. In a separate bowl mix together the buttermilk and egg. Add the buttermilk/egg mixture and the cheese to the dry ingredients. Wisk together until it forms dough. Use a spoon to get about 1-1.5in round biscuits. Brush melted butter on the top of the biscuits. Bake for 20-25 min or until golden brown.

And because one of my coworkers wanted the recipe for a family member, I had to translate it into German. So are the ingredients and quantities in German (with some mistakes I'm sure).

250g Mehl griftig
2 teelöffel Backpulver
1 teelöffel Salz
1 teelöffel Zucker
1 teelöffel Knoblauchpulver
Prise Cayennepfeffer
1 Ei
2 esslöffel frisch Schnittlauch
1 esslöffel frisch Petersilie
170g Cheddarkäse
250mL Buttermilsch
4 esslöffel Butter

Ofen vorheizen zum 176 C.
