S4, EP. 6 – The Kinnetik Launch Party, et al

For the past month, I’ve been re-watching/studying the series for the gazillionth time. As always, I’m stuck on this particular scene and episode. It completely baffles me. I just don’t get it.

I feel there’s a major disconnect between S4, Ep. 5 and S4, Ep. 6. Like there should have been an episode or two in between.

I don’t understand why Brian was suddenly so focused on Lindsay and asked her to come up “on stage” with him when he’s about to make his speech. I don’t understand why Justin is so shiny‑happy. I’m usually good at figuring these things out, but I am completely stumped. Did I miss something in the previous S4 episodes/scenes?

As Joe Miller (Denzel Washington) said to Andrew Beckett (Tom Hanks) in the film “Philadelphia”: Explain this to me like I’m a two‑year‑old. Because there’s an element to this thing that I just cannot get through my thick head.

I always interpreted Justin's happiness as a result of being "free" of his demons, at least to some extent, on account of confronting (and then being the better man and walking away from) Chris Hobbs. As far as Lindsay goes, I'd say it's a combination of things. For one, she's his second oldest friend and the mother of his child and he tends to play escort to her quite a bit throughout the series (especially in S1, with the car shopping and park-going and scarf shopping). But I also think it has something to do with the money raised on Brian's behalf after he went broke at the end of S3. I agree that it could have been clearer and that it's more implied than explained, but those are the conclusions I drew from it.

I agree with you on both points. And it's easier to simply type, Yeah - what arcady said. ;)

I think too, that Justin is proud of Brian and that shows.

I think there's been a gap of several weeks between the last episode and this one, so both Justin and Brian had some time to recover from the Pink Posse and there's no reason not to be happy now that Kinnetik is kicking off. I agree with arcady that Justin is proud of Brian as well as free of his demons.

As for Lindsay being on that stage, considering that she was the one who organized the benefit and handed over the cheque I figure she's representing the support from the community, like Cynthia is representing the professional support and Justin the personal. And Brian took her up with him first because she happened to stand next to him when it was time for the speech.

justine was the first person brian told he was starting his own company,he was the voice of reason making sure brian considered all posibilities and what he was risking,"its a big risk thats all".he was the one who talked to lindys about brians financial troubles that lead to the comunity contributions,he was also the one who sugested to brian to come up with anew campain to steal remsen in many ways this was one time brian aqnd justin really function as a patners, and i think that day it was a celebration of what they had overcome pink posie, being broke, and what they had achieved brian opening kinnetic.oh and justin named kinnetic in short he was apatner in this all of it so he was happy this is really the first time brian accepted help and justin was able to give that to him and as for lindsy i think at this time micheal is kind of moving on i mean he as hunter and ben and his on family matters of his own thus more and more brian life is now dominated by lindsy and justin and she is the mother of his child.i might not stop so i got to go
