Who: Ami and Daichi
What: Daichi seems to want to talk to Ami, and she needs a lookout.
When: Friday night, April 11th.
Where: Dorms then outside.

Ami had been planning her heist, but she didn't want to bother her roommate with it, so when Daichi had offered to chat, Ami figured she might as well use the opportunity. So she dressed in black yoga pants and a black t-shirt, with her hair tied up.

She typed out a quick message to Daichi to meet her near the backdoor of the dorm, then headed to meet him there. As the first to arrive, she hung around the door by just playing with her phone to make it seem like she had no ulterior motives.

When she finally saw Daichi heading to her, she opened the door and pointed outside.

"Let's go outside," she said nicely, hoping to get him to agree.

Daichi was still in his uniform; he didn't tend to change out of it unless into his pajamas to go to sleep. As he wheeled up to her, nothing seemed amiss, though his skeptical nature was raising all manner of red alarm flags.

He was trying to work, though, on trusting people, so he forced the thoughts to the back of his mind.

"Sure," he said, agreeable enough, watching as she worked away at her phone. "Where're we going to talk?"

No need to be so worried, Daichi~ She wasn't going to actually involve you. Much.

When she saw him she tucked her phone away, and held the door open until Daichi had joined her outside.

"I just want to walk around outside, it's really nice out." Ami stretched a bit, looking up at the moon.

"It's kinda nice we can't get in trouble being outside after curfew though, atleast that's one good thing about Glee."

Relaxing into his chair a bit, he nodded thank-you to her as he made his way through the door. "It is pretty nice out," he agreed. He'd grown to like being out after curfew nearly as much as being out in the early morning. It was usually pretty quiet, although he was also coming to enjoy having company.

"Yeah," he had to agree, to her last comment. "We've got the run of the place. Curfew's way too early otherwise. Even I don't want to be in my room so early."

"Do you go out after curfew a lot?" she asked, as she started walking. She made it seem like she was just strolling along, but she was secretly heading to the gymnasium, keeping an eye out for any other students or teachers, or robots.

"Although, I guess it's a little weird being outside with Shadows around supposedly.."

"Lately, yeah," he admitted as they moved along the path. "Not much to do past curfew otherwise. Can only play so many phone games and all that."

She was nice enough, really. A little forceful at times, but not all bad. Much better than he'd thought initially, if he was totally honest with himself.

"Well," he reasoned, nodding in her direction, "I guess better us than others, right? We should be able to defend ourselves, somehow."

"Why don't you hang out in the common room, there's always people in there, and Reina-chan could use more people on her team in her game.." she said, oddly helpful. Maybe she just felt bad for Daichi.

Speaking of defending herself...They had gotten closer to the gym, and Ami was ready to put her plan into motion. As she walked, she "accidentally" dropped her phone and kicked it off into the darkness off the path. Really, she just dropped a plastic box to the ground and kicked it towards the gym.

"My phone!" she said, heading toward it then turned back to Daichi. "I think it's over here, I'll be right back!" and then she disappeared into the darkness and bushes that were next to the gym, leaving Daichi alone for the moment.

A few minutes would pass with no answer from Ami. It sounded as if she wasn't even in the bushes anymore. If Daichi was particularly observant, he may have noticed a light in the gym building turning on inside for a few seconds, then quickly shut off.

"Maybe. She's nice enough," he admitted, "and virtual reality is sort of nice considering it lets me be theoretically mobile--"

And then, just like that, she was gone, off into the bushes, leaving Daichi scratching his head for a few moments, an expression which quickly faded into his familiar linefacing.

"...I just got abandoned, didn't I," he asked himself, sighing softly. She'd completely disappeared; which itself was impossible. No one simply disappeared, but then again, magical headgods didn't exist, either.

He was very, very tempted to just head back to the dorms, but figured he at least owed her a few minutes of waiting. The events in the gym went largely unnoticed, as he dug out his phone and began to check his email.

Poor Daichi, if Ami had known it would affect the boy so much she may have had second thoughts. Either way, it was another whole minute or so before she finally emerged from the bush, breathing heavily.

"There, I found it!" she said, holding up the phone. "Sorry, I thought I saw something back there, so I chased after it, but I think it was just a squirrel." Yeah, she lied, but atleast it sorta made sense.

"Any one come by while I was gone?" she asked, checking to see if any teachers or robots had come by.

He favored her with a look that told her that he didn't quite necessarily buy this entire story, considering how long she'd been gone, but nor was he really willing to ask any more questions than he felt necessary.

"Glad you found it," he finally settled on, after another moment's thought.

"Not that I'm aware of," he replied to her inquiry about the school's authority figures, gesturing to his own phone. "If there were any, they didn't stop me while I was playing Last Reality XXVIII."

"You like games too?" she asked, still trying to get her breathing back to normal. Seriously, that was a lot of running around to get back quick enough.

"I haven't played much since elementary school, but I used to love to play games," she said, opening up a bit.

"A bit," he admitted, nodding. "When you're in one of these all the time, there's not too much else one can really do. And calm down a bit. Sounds like you're hyperventilating."

He paused for a moment, trying to ascertain whether the conversational thread would be worth it...and opted to stop at that.

The rustling at the bushes concealed the fact that there was someone else there. With Ami so busy excusing himself to Daichi, she wouldn't notice the pale young man sneaking up behind until he was in plain sight. It was harder to see him in his black turtleneck, too.

At which point, there was a 'click' like, from a phone camera.

This was followed by the boy in question saying nothing, holding up a finger as if to say 'hold on', taking his sweet time to go over his paper-thin, sleek smartphone until he hit the right app, and thusly, his phone played the appropriate sound.

"Hello."

Ami was quite good at being sneaked up on. Good, in that she nearly jumped when she finally noticed the person behind. She nearly tripped over her own feet as she scrambled away from the newcomer toward Daichi. She was about to yell, when she was somehow stopped by the finger. Then when he spoke she exploded.

"W-W-What was that?!" she asked, half scared by the new comers odd entrance, and the other half intimidated by a new boy she had never met before.

"Oh, I'm just breaking the ice," he said, stepping further into the light. His voice was airy, almost melodious, but perhaps a bit too steady. "Akiyama Takeo, hallway monitor... and I believe," he turned to his phone again, holding it flatly, so that it would project a holographic clock. "It's way past curfew."

He pocketed the phone. "Of course, I'm sure you have a good reason to be out. Since sharing is caring, why don't you share it with me?"

For his part, perhaps naturally, Daichi was a bit more cool and calm as regarded this particular interloper.

Daichi turned his chair, to wheel it towards the newcomer.

"Hallway monitor, hmm," Daichi asked, dryly, looking at the other man with a shake of his head, before he turned back to Ami. "Guess we're in trouble, huh?"

Misawa let that point hang in the air for a few moments.

"Except for one minor point, my friend with the camera. A little something called 'jurisdiction'."

God help him, he was enjoying this. Besides, there was a chance that this kid was just trolling him and Ami, so why not troll him right back? He'd had lots of practice on 9chan.

And oh-- it might have been true! Rather than seem shocked at the fact his jurisdiction had been put into question, he pocketed his hands (and phone, in turn), and took a step closer. "Oh, that's true... maybe," he said, stepping up until he was right in front of Daichi. "Who knows? Maybe I have extraordinary jurisdiction. Or perhaps, even without it, I am still in a position to exert the rules: specially considering that breaking curfew is still a fault, anywhere in the school, and not just the hallways."

However-- he crouched down then, resting his arms on his legs. His expression turned into a bewildering, gentle one... Angelic grace , or truly diabolical acting?!

"But I asked about your reasons to be here, and you still haven't answered. Maybe I'll just walk away."

"You will not intimidate me, Akiyama-san."

The words were spoken very slowly and very firmly, as Daichi leaned forward to look up at the hallway-turned-school grounds monitor.

"I highly doubt that this school would give a hallway monitor jurisdiction to monitor outside of the hallways," he said, calmly. "Furthermore, if you report us to your superior, whoever it may be, you will have to explain why you were violating curfew as well. I doubt you have a more legitimate reason than we do, whatever it may be."

Once again, he shot a glance over to Ami, and nodded his head.

"So, Akiyama-san, please, allow Tanigawa-san and myself to continue our journey back to the dorms, and I will refrain from reporting /you/ for harassing two fine upstanding students in a manner that is not permitted by your appointed position."

He wheeled himself a little bit closer to the other man, glaring daggers up at the dark haired fellow.

"If you make my life any more miserable than it already is..."

He didn't stop smiling. As he straightened up and took a graceful step aside, there even seemed to be a hint of satisfaction on his face, as if he'd gotten just what he wanted. "Naturally, please carry along... and rest assured, it is hardly my intention to do so. I am, after all, a fair man."

He did, however, take his phone out again. "Misawa-san, correct?" he asked, idly going what one might presume is a student roll. "Have a nice evening."

Pocketing his phone again, he resumed his own violation of curfew, wandering away, humming - rather in tune - to himself.

Ami had stayed silent for the most of the conversation, unsure of what to say, especially when Daichi showed a different side of himself that she had never seemed. He seemed so...angry. She reminded herself to never anger him herself.

"..Are you alright?" she asked Daichi after the hall monitor had left, still shaken up at the tension that erupted between them.

"I'm fine," he replied, voice returning to its usual disinterested tone. "People like him just piss me off. Trying to throw his authority around like it actually means anything. Hall monitor. Honestly. Part of me hopes he reports us and finds out about our special dispensations. I'd love to see the look on his face."

Shaking his head, he sighed, before regarding her more carefully. "Sorry if I want too far. I don't want him bothering us again. Considering our responsibilities...shit, that's what I wanted to talk to you about anyway. How'd we end up all the way out here?"

"Well, I think it's good, most student's should be inside, imagine if they had to fight those things without Personas?" she added, almost quietly, as they started to walk back the way they had come.

She thought about the question, taking into account the way Daichi didn't seem to like authority.

"I borrowed a naginata from the gym," she answered truthfully.

Daichi sighed, audibly, and shook his head at her. "You couldn't have told me that, rather than come up with your pretty mediocre excuse and quick getaway into the bushes?"

Even though the words were harsh, there was the beginning of a smile threatening to form on his face.

"I should probably start being proactive like that. I've got no idea what in the Hell I can fight with besides, well, my Persona. My options are somewhat limited."

Maybe a projectile of some sort? Or a spear?

"I thought you might hate the idea," she added, kicking a rock into the darkness. "I didn't know you...wanted to fight." In her mind she had a list of people she knew were ready to fight, and wanted to get to know those people better. Especially a certain baseball player.

"I'm sure you'll find something that works for you," she said. "I just knew what I wanted right away, so I got it." That made sense to her...somehow.

"Or maybe your Persona is so strong you won't need a weapon, who knows?"

"I don't /want/ to fight, per se," he admitted. "I'm not super happy about it, but it's going to be happening. It's useless to fight against the inevitable, you know?"

The world always moved along, with or without you. Or legs, for that matter, and to stand still was to be swept away without any say in the matter at all.

There was no decision as to whether or not to fight. It had been made. The hows, though, could be effected.

"I'll find something. My persona spent most of its existence pushing a big rock. I can't imagine it's among the most powerful. I'll throw something, maybe. I'm good at throwing things."

"You never know, maybe that made him incredibly strong?" she said shrugging a bit, as they finally reached the door.

"I think it's brave to fight, and it's definitely the right thing. I want to help people if I can," she said, finally answering that question.

"We just need to stay safe, and be ready."

"Maybe," Daichi conceded, not wanting to argue the point right now. "Don't want to think about it too much until they train us in the art of headgod fighting."

Thinking about Sisyphus too much generally led to bad things, something he wanted to avoid right now.

"It is brave to fight, but it's...I don't feel brave. I'm one of a few people who can. It'd be...to not do it would just be wrong."

"I guess that's a way of looking at it," she said. "We'll see how things are soon I'm sure."

Once they get inside, Ami checks her phone instinctively.

"I think I'm gonna head back to my room, I need to get up early tomorrow," she said, thinking of the plans she has for the next day.

That was fine with Daichi, really. Tonight had been, well, slightly more exciting than he'd really hoped for, anyway.

"That's fine, Tanigawa-san," he replied, evenly, as they arrived at the split of paths between the resepctive dorms. "Take care. I'm usually around if you want to talk or whatever."

"Or if you need a lookout again," was hastily appended, as he waved, and turned to head for his room.
