Author Notes: This came to me after seeing the prompt from which this is sprung with. I had considered doing something longer with it but my muse refused to budge. So here is a little drabble from her. :D
"Give that back!"
Katara reached out to grab ahold of the dangled end of her beloved necklace only to find it snatched out of her reach again by the firebending prince. Her ocean blue eyes narrowing dangerously at Zuko as she took another step forward to lay claim to the necklace.
"You have no right to be holding it!" She hissed angrily. Her hands now at her side clutching tightly into fists. She couldn't understand how he had gotten his hands on it but once she had reclaimed it, she was going to make sure he never got his hands on it again.
That was if she got it back.
Zuko watched her with an amused look upon his face. He held up the blue betrothal necklace up again and eyed it with curiosity. It was certainly plain looking. The stone had been carved to a smooth circle with an intricate design of the water tribe symbol carved on both sides. The blue ribbon of which held the precious blue stone was of the finest silk. He was certain that whomever had made the necklace had been of someone quite prominent in the tribal community. He had never asked her about the history of the necklace and she had never given the information quite willing with the exception that it had been her mother's necklace.
"What? This?" He dangled the necklace in front of her face again. "Nah I don't think so. Finders keepers, Katara."
Turning and walking away from the angry Waterbender, Zuko re-pocketed the necklace and patted gently. It was only a matter of time before he would present her with the one he planned to make for her but for now, he would just hold onto this one.
