Time-Travel Suicide (Charmed, PG, prompt #100); Slytherin (Harry Potter, G, prompt #11)
Title: Time-Travel Suicide
Fandom: Charmed
Characters/Pairing: Chris Halliwell
Rating: PG
Word count: 297
Challenge/Prompt: #100 - broken
Summary: He couldn't bring himself to care over his own death.
Maybe it was a testament to how shitty the future was, but Chris couldn’t bring himself to cry over Bianca’s death. It had been a week, and he had not shed a single tear. He had cried over her betrayal; he had cried when he thought she had forsaken their love. But this? Death had taken her, just like it had taken every other person in Chris’s family, including Wyatt. At some point, the good part of the Wyatt, the part that was Chris’s brother, had died, and that was when everything had gone to shit. Now, here he was, sitting in the past as he tried to repair what was broken so long ago.
He had no idea what it was that had started the falling dominoes, though. He couldn't figure out which demon was Patient Zero. He was still walking blind. And Bianca was dead, but she wasn’t, and the more Chris messed with the past, the more he wasn’t sure what to believe about his future anymore. He knew that somewhere outside of the Halliwell Manor a much younger Bianca existed. This Bianca would grow up in a different world. Maybe she would remain the assassin that Chris had originally met her as, but maybe she wouldn’t be swayed to the side of good this time.
Or maybe there would be no swaying necessary.
And, the ever present thought on his mind, maybe he wouldn’t even exist when that future came about. Maybe, with how much Chris had fucked with the future, Wyatt would grow up an only child. Or maybe he would end up with a half-brother who was half-fireman instead.
He had committed time-travel suicide as far as he knew, and he couldn’t even bring himself to cry over his own death.
Title: Slytherin
Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters/Pairing: Albus Potter, Scorpius Malfoy
Rating: G
Word count: 299
Challenge/Prompt: #11 - sunlight
Summary: He could only imagine how disappointed they were going to be.
It wasn’t until Albus noticed the sunlight beginning to show along the horizon that he realized that he had stayed up the entire night. He quickly looked around the dorm room as he wiped the sleeves of his PJ’s across his face to wipe away any last remnants of tears. The last thing he wanted to do was be caught crying his first night at Hogwarts. Somehow, he didn’t think he would survive the humiliation or ever live it down. The idea of living in this place and turning it into seven years of Hell did not sound too appealing to him.
But then again, his situation now did not seem too appealing either. He didn’t know how this happened. It didn’t matter what his father said at the train station. He was certain that James had already sent their parents an owl, and by the end of the day, he was going to hear from the family. Knowing them, they would pretend to be okay with it, but he could only imagine what they were saying at home, how disappointed they were going to be.
Slytherin. He was a Slytherin.
“What the bloody hell are you doing up this early?” a sleepy voice suddenly said behind him.
Al started, surprised, as he turned around to face one Scorpius Malfoy. For a long moment, he fumbled with his words as he tried to figure out what to say. “I, well, um, I was…”
Scorpius’s gaze softened. “You, uh… wanna get some breakfast?” he asked, sounding almost friendly.
For a moment, Al could only stare. This definitely wasn’t the Malfoy attitude he was expecting. “Isn’t it a bit early for breakfast?”
Scorpius shrugged. “We’ll probably get lost a million times along the way, so no, not really.”
Albus smiled. “Okay.”
