I Shot the Sheriff (prompt #99)
Title: I Shot the Sheriff
Fandom: King of Fighters
Characters/Pairing: Shen Woo, Oswald, Duo Lon, Ash Crimson
Rating: PG for a little bit of swearing
Word Count: 216
Challenge/Prompt: #99 - bang
Summary: Sometimes, there's just no substitute for a silly card game.
"So, what is this game about anyway?" Duo asked, tilting his head ever so slightly.
Shen laughed as he opened the box. "You'll see. Okay...let's see...here's the thingie that you put your character card on...um...let's see. Character cards. I need to shuffle those. I need to shuffle the role cards after I get just the Sheriff, two Outlaws, and a Renegade card out of it...then I need to shuffle the deck. Get ready for some seriously hilarious shit, Duo."
Ash Crimson and Oswald slinked into the room together.
"Quoi?! You have Bang?" Ash blurted. "Let's play!"
"It would help if you would give me time to shuffle and set up, Frenchie." Shen muttered.
Nearly half an hour later, Ash squirmed in his seat with excitement. He knew he loved this game for a reason! He stared down Oswald from across the table as he drew his cards.
A well-manicured hand threw down a card. "Bang-bang, mon Outlaw ami!"
Oswald flicked the last of his hit-point bullets off. "Well, damn it! And then there were two, lads. And then there were two."
Duo drew his cards, then smirked with a glint in his eye as he threw down a Bang! card. "I shot the sheriff."
Shen couldn't help but laugh. "But you did not shoot the deputy."
