WHO: The Phantom of the Opera [Open]
WHERE: A church, somewhere vaguely near the apartments.
WHEN: Early evening
WHAT: Admiring the architecture, gaining inspiration for his operas.
RATING: TBD
STATUS: Incomplete
NOTE: Come, poke the Phantom. He might appreciate it.

The Phantom had never been a man of religion, even during his time in Persia, but a small part of him had always held a fascination for the buildings - incredible Gothic structures, beautifully constructed and something for him to aspire towards in his own designs.

And, of course, they reminded him of Christine. He'd first revealed himself as her Angel in the chapel of the Opéra Populaire, after all - and such rapture that had invoked in her!

He self-consciously straightened his mask, looked up at the ceiling, and half-wished he'd brought his violin with him. The acoustics in this building would've made for quite the impressive performance...

"Ohh.. well, alright then." He paused, considering this. He didn't want to disturb the priest if he was busy with preparations. "I guess I could wait. I'm just here to offer him help."

He looked up, seeing the arches and ceiling. He stared at it for a moment. "This structure was put together really well. I can see that it will hold up for many more years to come." He didn't say how he knew that, though. He wasn't sure if this guy would believe it.

"A kind soul, in this city? You, sir, are a rarity."

He had to admit that he'd rarely been treated with kindness upon his arrival here - the curious stares and attempts at removing his mask had almost tempted him to lock himself away in his new abode, and just play his pipe organ. Maybe he was a bit too sensitive about things like that...

"Ah, the man who put together this building... he must've felt a great love for his art and his benefactor, to allow him to build such a strong and powerful monument." Of course, this was partially him speaking from experience - his maze of mirrors had been so amazing due to his utter devotion to his work, after all.

Clark just shrugged. Oh, he could definitely be considered a rarity. There were likely only one or two of his kind, of his race, that could be found anywhere in the universe. "Thanks. I had good parents. I'm always around to help people that need it.. I've done a few rescues too."

He had to nod in agreement about the architecture. "I'd say this could be one of the few wonders created by man. There are quite several beautiful monuments that have been constructed in other parts of the world, though some are not as intact as they once were. I've been to a lot of places."

The Phantom had to admit, he liked this man - dashing, bold and heroic, and, fortunately, nothing like that annoying Raoul boy who had attempted to thwart him back in Paris.

"Man's wonders are many, to the eyes of the uninformed, but are all inspired by a common goal - to be better than your predecessor, and to impress your object of affection."

Almost unconsciously, he ran his fingers over the porcelain of his mask, a small part of his mind jabbing in to remind him that it took far more than feats of architecture for him to receive love and admiration, especially with a face like that.

Clark nodded. "I think that's how it usually goes.. with time, each piece of artwork of any kind becomes better than what came previously. There's some astounding structures out there." He paused, then considering telling him about one he had been to on many occasions.

He didn't feel any danger in it, as the place was not around in the Arctic anymore for anyone to discover. "I've been to a place.. my father built it. It's in a very cold climate. White, pristine columns that point up.. some slanted to the left, others to right. A combination of ice and crystal. It can be quite breathtaking for those who've never seen it."

A palace of ice, or so it sounded. The Phantom had never really been to any of the icier climates, even back in his own time - the cold didn't go well with him, and a freezing porcelain mask was never comfortable.

"It sounds like a marvellous feat, and a beautiful sight."
