WHO: Edmund & The Girl Violet.
WHERE: Some random park- be creative.
WHEN: Saturday evening, just before sunset. Y'know, sets the mood.
RATING: ...I think it pains me to say... G. =O
STATUS: Ongoing.

This was Edmund's first date, in the whole of his sixteen years.

Things had been different in Narnia, of course. But it was hardly a matter of who you were dating there, as little seemed to matter but the happiness of the Narnians. He had had lovers, yes- he was experienced in suave and smooth-sailing. But, he was no longer in Narnia, nor was he the man he was all those years ago, so little of that mattered now. He had spent most of his time trying to forget the things that had happened, whereas Peter had a tendency to dwell strictly on them. It made no sense whatsoever to Edmund. It wasn't the same time anymore, and Narnia was just a memory.

It was time they all did some growing up, and stopped living in the past.

Different thoughts, those included, seemed to swirl around Edmund's mind as he sat by himself on one of the park benches. It had been closer to the opening, that way Violet wouldn't have trouble finding him, or vice versa, if the occasion called. He had hoped that things would go smoothly tonight, and he could finally get to know someone he wasn't remotely related to, or familiar with. It was a little risky, because Violet had seemed far more different than any of the other girls he had encountered- but that was part of what had Edmund so interested in her. She was beautiful, smart, and wise beyond her years.

Those were hard to come by, these days.

The Girl would have been able to find Edmund anywhere, if someone had blindfolded her and told her to find him then she could have. Of course, the Girl could find anyone if she needed to and she could do a lot more than just that. She hadn't been surprised by The Just's invitation, because she was very difficult to surprise, but she certainly wasn't used to the kind of attention he had given her. He was the first person in her lifetime to give her a name without permission, and she liked it.

She walked into the park and straight over to where he was sitting and she waited a moment for him to notice her. Her clothes were a little old fashioned for a girl that looked like she was in her early teens, and she certainly wouldn't have looked out of place in a BBC Dickens adaptation.

She smiled at him and spoke; "Hello."

Edmund had been absorbed in a twig that had fallen from the tree above him and landed on top of his head. Things were still a bit spotted, but he could still understand proper English. Blinking a little to try and get the spots from his eyes, he looked up to see Violet, the girl he had been waiting for. His eyebrows lifted at her attire, but he attempted not to blush when he looked into her face. "Hullo," he said, tossing the stick over his shoulder. Someone on the other side shouted "Hey! Watch it, dude!" but he wasn't paying attention. He smiled lopsidedly and stood up. "Violet?" he questioned.

There was really no denying that this was the girl- literally, figuratively- she had a defined taste in clothes that was nothing short of what he'd imagined. He had to admit, she really was very different. More so than he had actually pictured.

But that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

If it had been anyone else the Girl would have lectured them on the proper use of names and how they were important and how the Girl was both who and what she was. However, this was King Edmund The Just, and for some reason she didn't mind it from him at all. "That's what you named me." She answered, still smiling at him. It wasn't her name, but it had been so long since she had been called it that it didn't matter to her anymore. If he wanted to call her Violet, then she was willing to let him.

"You wanted me to walk with you." She stated. As far as favours went, it was one of the stranger ones. It was also one of the nicest. There were very few people that she had spoken to, that weren't interested in what she could do, but who she was.

She rather liked him for it.
