WHO: Peter Pevensie and Susan Pevensie, with cameos from Gene Hunt and Sam Tyler.
WHERE: A police station. Because Peter is a moron.
WHEN: 30th May 2008, 9pm.
RATING: TBD.
STATUS: On going.

Peter had a history of not being able to adjust to new situations. Turning up in New York in 2008 was no exception. The city was so different from everything he remembered. In 1946 Peter was living under rationing conditions, the United Nations had only met once, the cold war had just started, Clement Attlee was Prime Minister of Britain, the National Health Service hadn’t started yet, homosexuality was still illegal, there were no betting shops and you could only buy alcohol between certain hours on a Sunday. Peter couldn’t really believe how much the world had changed.

Peter had a lot to adjust to. Especially the fact that he had kissed Caspian. He didn’t want to think about that, he was trying very hard to ignore the fact that it had ever happened. That was why Peter had gone to a nearby pub, hoping that he could at least get very drunk. The plan would have worked if he looked older than his eighteen years.

He got into an argument with the bartender over the legal drinking age, and then he had bumped into a very drunk man on the way out of the bar. The next thing he knew, Peter was in the middle of a fight and was being hauled off the other man by a police officer.

“Alright, sunshine, you’re fucking nicked.” The English officer said, slapping the handcuffs onto his wrists before pushing him into the backseat of the police car. Peter leant back and let out a deep breath, his shoulder hurt and he could feel blood trickle down the side of his face. None of this was anywhere near as bad as the knowledge that Susan was going to kill him

They had interviewed him, and eventually had just left him in one of the cells to wait for his sister. He knew he was lucky that they weren’t pressing charges but he didn’t feel lucky. He was beginning to wish that he had them call anyone apart from Susan, he could already imagine what she was going to say and the look that she was going to give him for this.

All he could do was wait for her to arrive.

Susan had been playing on the Playstation with Edmund, letting her brother teach her the merits of the game. She had to admit it was rather amusing, if somewhat pointless. When the phone rang, she'd answered it, and listened as a woman named Officer Cartwright had told her that her brother had been arrested, and could she please come pick him up. She glanced over in confusion, noting that Edmund was, in fact, still in the sitting room. He was, which meant the woman was referring to Peter. She frowned. What had her brother done now?

"I'll be right there," she said, checking to be sure Edmund hadn't heard. She hung up and headed back to the sitting room, telling her brother that she needed to head out for a bit.

"Who was that, Suse?" Edmund asked and she forced a smile, lying easier than she would have liked. "Oh, that was just Cyd," she said. "I'll be back in a little while. We'll finish playing later." Then she headed out the door, mentally planning to slap Peter upside the head for being so stupid. She rode her bicycle to the police station and looked around curiously. Peter was definitely getting a lecture for this. The place had so many people who just unnerved her. She certainly looked out of place, dressed as she was. Cyd hadn't yet convinced her to shop for more modern clothes.

"Excuse me," she said politely. "I'm here to pick up Peter Pevensie."

The cut on Peter's head had been cleaned and had stopped bleeding and a bruise was beginning to form. He touched it gingerly, wincing slightly. It wasn't the worst wound he ever had but that didn't stop it from hurting, or his body from aching.

"Alright, sunshine, your sister's here. Come on." The officer that had arrested him, Peter thought his name was Gene Hunt but he wasn't sure, unlocked the cell and grabbed his arm uncomfortably and took him through to the main desk. He tried to avoid looking at Susan while he signed for his stuff; his wallet and the keys to the penthouse. The only things he actually owned.

"You get into trouble again, kid, and we'll lock you up and throw away the fucking key. You got me?" The officer asked. Peter nodded and mumbled a 'yes, sir'. "Alright. Get out of here."

Peter tried to avoid looking at his sister, "Don't say anything. Just... don't." He said. "Lets just leave."

Susan looked at him coldly, beyond angry with her brother. "What would I say?" she asked, with the sort of feigned sweetness that she only used when she was especially annoyed. "I'm still debating whether it's that you're simply an idiot, or that a bloody death wish."

She smiled politely at the detective. "You should have kept him overnight," she said. "He probably would have appreciated that more than the lecture he's going to get." She looked back to Peter. "And you get to explain to Caspian and Edmund what happened and what prompted this insanity." She was fighting the urge to slap him, but took his hand and pulled him along after her.

"Well, I don't envy him one bit," Sam mused to Gene as the teenagers left. There was something almost scary about that girl.

Outside, Susan glared at Peter. "What the bloody hell were you thinking, Peter," she said. "You're lucky they didn't press charges. Or worse. You could have been seriously hurt. I am so disappointed in you." She realised that she was beginning to sound rather like their mother, but she didn't care.

Peter stuffed his hands into his pockets sulkily. He wasn't sure how to explain any of it to Susan. The inability to cope with this new place, the feelings he'd been having for Caspian. If Peter had been in a better mood then he probably would have been able to articulate himself better, or he would have been able to think up a reply that might have been able to calm Susan down.

As it was, Peter was far angrier with himself than he was with anyone else, and that certainly didn't help matters. Especially as the last thing he wanted to do was talk about anything.

"I'm fine. They didn't press charges. Stop acting like mum and just drop it." Peter said. "And I'm not telling Edmund or Caspian anything. And don't you dare! It will only give Edmund ideas and I really don't think either of us want to make our presence there a regular thing." It was a little hard on Ed, but Peter really didn't want to say anything on the subject to either of them
