WHO: Peter Petrelli and Lady Heather
WHERE: A bar in New York
WHEN: Sunday night
RATING: TBD
STATUS: Incomplete

It wasn't an unusual sight to see Heather at a bar. She glanced over the edge of her wine glass and glanced over to the people at the bar. After all, what she did best was observe...and it was blatantly obvious to her from the posture of the younger man that he was upset. She slid smoothly off her stool and walked over, her heels clicking softly on the floor, and moved to sit next to Peter.

"You look," Heather murmured, "Like you could use someone to listen." She supressed the urge to smirk. Or someone to hit, she thought, but you'll have to pay one of my girls for that.

As for Peter- it was one of the most unusual sights money could buy. Peter Petrelli was never one for bars. Nor, was he one for drinks. And yet, there he was- downing another shot of Jack Daniels at the bar nearest Prideview. Peter didn't care what the place was called, or whether or not what he was drinking would really dull the pain of what he felt. No, instead, he only cared about letting loose and having a decent night. If, well, that was possible.

For a moment, he could have sworn he'd imagined the voice next to him. To double check his sanity, Peter looked over at the girl that settled down next to him. An eyebrow lifted and he returned the smirk. "How'd ya guess?" He asked.

Well, it could have been the fact that this was his 7th shot, and he looked like he was about to cry.

"Because it is my business to be able to tell exactly what a person is thinking even if it isn't something that they want to say out loud in a public place," She murmured with a slight smile, shaking her head.

"And there was the fact I think I've seen you drink at least four shots in a rather short amount of time." Heather didn't like to drink like that, but she knew a time when she had - after her daughter's death. She hadn't known what to do with herself, and she'd ended up seeking out revenge on her killer (after sleeping with the man's twin brother in an effort to get DNA).

"I can offer an ear that I guarantee to be at least relatively subjective."

Peter gave a small chuckle, pushing the bottle of Jacks away. He'd never had the knack for drinking, and he knew it. So he wasn't sure how much more he could handle without falling off of his chair. He intook a small amount of breath before looking back over to her. "Your business, huh?" What kind of business was that? She wasn't a psychic, too, was she? He'd had enough of psychics. Enough.

"Peter," he said, extending his hand over his chest.

She shook his hand very firmly. "Lady Heather." It was habit to introduce herself as that over 'Heather Kessler', if only because she was Heather Kessler only when it came to her granddaughter.

"My business. I run the fetish club here, Impero." Odds were that he had gotten her set of handcuffs over Christmas, since she had left them on all the doors to the hotel rooms.

Lady? Well, damn. Looks like he'd hit the jackpot tonight. Of course, Peter never really gambled, either. This entire night was slowly becoming a boiling pot of out of context, and he only had one woman to blame. And he wasn't exactly in a mood to eve think about ..her.

At the mention of her business, Peter grinned. "Handcuff-Heather, right?" Peter settled his elbows on the counter, nodding. Of course he knew who she was. Everyone in Pride View did around Christmastime.

Heather couldn't suppress the faint laugh that bubbled from her throat when he asked if she was 'Handcuff-Heather'.

"I trust that my publicity stunt did its job in getting the word out about my club. Sales have certainly spiked since then ... but I suppose the New Year coaxes people to do new things." Adventurous, new things.

"But we were not in fact talking about me," she murmured pointedly, shaking her head. They had been talking about Peter, and she didn't intent to let him drop what was bothering him now.

He smirked, nodding his head. "Yeah, a little." She was right. The New Year had inspired Amanda to move one step closer to her death bed. Apparently her death wish was plastered on her forehead. And if things kept up the way they were- she'd get it.

At the mention of them not talking about her, he lifted a brow. Right, they were on the topic of him. "Well.. My girlfriend was murdered by this.. psycho bitch." He frowned for a moment. That about summed up his issues at that moment. Until the others started skimming the surface. Then they'd be there all night.

She immediately softened. It wasn't completely obvious, but her gaze was gentler the moment she turned it to him. Heather lifted a hand to rest on his - she was a very touchy person (because of her job and because of the sort of person she was, she supposed), after all.

"I'm sorry." And she was - she knew how hard it was to lose someone close to you. While her daughter wasn't the same as this man's girlfriend, from the state of him their losses were similar, at least in magnitude. "Was it recent?" Heather was putting her money on 'yes'.

"Yeah." Peter had a feeling she knew how he felt. Whether by her expression, or the sound of her voice- and, Matt's power didn't help much either.. but he could tell. In a way, it wasn't too recent. And in a way, it was. He had just recently gotten a chance to avenge Zoe's death. Prior to that, he was at a loss as to who would have done such a thing.

But coming to face with her murderer made him realize something. That could have been him.

Heather nodded as he spoke, letting her hand linger on his for a few moments before she settled it back onto the bartop and looked to the tender, ordering another glass of it for herself. She'd have to keep away from hard liquor this evening, but if the young man in front of her was going to keep on drinking it would probably be better she stayed relatively sober, anyway.

"If there is anything I can do ... well. Aside from wanting to hurt the person that has done this to you." She looked at him levelly. If he was anything like her, he'd already sought the person out - but his reaction would tell her whether he was or not.

Wanting to hurt the person that has done this to you.

Was it wrong that those words suddenly had a definitive echo? Peter let his tongue linger on his top lip for a moment. He knew what he'd done was wrong, and yet, he'd done it anyway. But did that stop it from feeling so right?

Not a chance in the world.

"I could use the company." He said, giving her a little smirk.

Well, that answered Heather's question rather concisely. She resisted the urge to ask whether the girl had reported it, whether he needed ... someone to pull some strings with the legal system like she had when she'd beat that man on the front of her car.

"Then I can certainly provide that." She glanced over to his empty shot glass, however, and muttered archly, "I would suppose that you should slow yourself down if you are to be able to walk back to the hotel, however, no matter how short the distance might be."
