Damien was planning to go back to his apartment shortly. But he wanted to enjoy the night before he turned in. Being out here.. he could sense a few things. Danger. Sin. Cruelty. Fear. Lust. Anger.

The city was full of it. But then, that was expected with a population as big as it was, even this late. He walked on the sidewalk, in his usual dark attire, with the black overcoat, his dark hair blowing in the breeze as he continued on.

He stopped briefly, leaning against the wall of one of the buildings. He sighed, looking to the sky. "What.." He blinked. He could have sworn he saw a red streak for a brief second. But it was gone now. "Maybe I am imagining things.." He laughed at that, shaking his head....

Cassie wasn't sure she liked it here, it was lonely and while it was true that she pretty much hated it in Bristol after everything that had happened with Sid at least she knew people there, had people to talk too.

That was why she was wondering around the streets on New York at 11pm, because she really wasn't the stay at home type, not when she was depressed, because that tended to lead to very bad things and she was trying so hard not to be like that anymore. She'd managed to find a bar that would serve her, she had fake ID of course, but it was pretty obvious she was only 18. It was stupid really, chosing to come to America where you couldn't drink until you were 21, she'd have been better off moving to London or something really.

She'd decided she wanted to find a club next, maybe get some pills, find someone to make her feel a little less lonely. It had always worked before after all. Then she saw him and grinned, running up to him excitedly. "Oh wow Tony! Did you come to find me?" she asked, bouncing on the balls of her feet.

Damien was staring up at the sky, when he heard the excited voice from the attractive girl. He turned to see if there was another man nearby, since his name wasn't Tony. There wasn't. He smirked as he thought, Ohh.. right. She's talking to me.

He debated for a second, whether he should correct her.. or agree. If he told the truth, then she would likely apologize and move on. And she was certainly pretty, and it'd be a waste to let her go with talking a bit. Or more...

And of course.. he was in the mood for games right now. He could use a bit of fun at a mortal's expense. So, looking surprised, and then a grin on his face, he nodded. "Wow, you're here?? Ohh.. oh wow. I thought you were back home. I've been in town for a few weeks.. funniest thing, I hit my head last night, so I don't remember everything."

He walked closer to Cassie, smiling. "Yes, it's me. Tony is here. How long have you been here, hmm? Been having fun? Well, if not.. then you will, since I'm here now."

Cassie was still grinning as she spoke, if she had to choose anyone to be here with her it would have been Tony, because well she liked him, and everything had wrong back home so there was really no reason to want to see anyone else. "Oh no I sort of...decided to leave after everything with Sid, you know?" she looked angry and upset for a moment. "I only came back for him and well you know, he broke my heart and I thought it was going to be okay, because you said it was and then...fuck Tony aren't you still pissed at them?" she looked behind him for a moment, "isn't lovely Michelle here with you?" the word 'lovely' sounded sarcastic, because the mess Cassie was in now was down to her, she'd stolen her boyfriend and she couldn't forget that.

She looked seriously worried when he said he'd bumped his head, since Tony had been in a quite serious road accident a year or so before. She stood on her trip toes, her hand resting on his shoulder as she looked at his head. "Shit Tony are you okay? And that's alright, it'll just be like before yeah? I can tell you everything you need to know and things?" She wanted to tell him they'd been together, but she couldn't do that to him, she wanted him to chose her or it wouldn't be the same.

"I only just got here really, like I said needed to get away. After Chris..." she trailed off, she couldn't think about him dying, it broke her heart. "But no not really, but yeah like you said you're here now so everything'll change right? Thought anymore about my offer then?" she asked, "or should I remind you about it again?"

As this girl talked with him, he watched her, listening intently. As he did, somehow, he had thoughts in his head, about things he couldn't possibly know. Not everything.. just enough to know that it was quite an interesting life.

He shrugged then, saying with a smirk, "Michelle who?" He chuckled, briefly gliding a finger down her arm. "I don't see any else here. Do you? As to me being pissed or not.. well.. let's just say that karma can be a real bitch. Things happen." He knew that very well. Someone threatened him or discovered his true identity.. they usually met a very swift, gory, and horribly violent end.

"Fuck all of them. You don't need them, you don't need anyone." He smiled, brushing a hand down her cheek. "Okay? Though, it can't be like it was. Oh no. It will be better." He sighed and added, "But.. yeah.. I might need help with a few things now and then. Just pieces here and there. Names, little events.. but don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Now that you're here."

She smiled more genuinely when he said Michelle who? She didn't deserve him, not after he'd changed. Before the accident yeah Tony had been a total wanker but after it, well he'd be nice. Sort of broken and fragile and Michelle had just left him because she couldn't deal with him like that and even after she'd shagged his best friend Tony had wanted her back. It made her sick, but clearly he'd come to his senses just like Cassie had when she'd left Sid and come here to start again. The smile faded when he mentioned karma though, assuming he was talking about the way he'd treated Michelle before. "Yeah but you're not like, well you're a dickhead anymore," she told him, "you deserved someone nicer after the accident. I think we like both did you know? Sid and Michelle deserve each other right? Because well she just wants someone to do what she says and Sid, well he was also sort like a lapdog right? And I thought that was what I wanted only it wasn't. I wanted, I wanted.." she trailed off and shook her head. She wanted someone that would stick up for her, that would stand up to her and make her eat and stop running away from things. She wanted Tony, and not just because Michelle had taken Sid from her.

He was right when he said she didn't need anyone though. She'd always pretty much fended for herself. Chris had looked after her of course, when she'd left Scotland and ended up with no where to live he'd let her stay with him, even after everything she'd done, nearly breaking him and Jal up. "It's sometimes nice to have someone though isn't it?" she asked quietly, resting her cheek against his hand. It was nice being here with him, and he certainly seemed like Tony, so it was easy to not realise this was all a game and even if she did realise she couldn't say she cared all that much.

"Better, yeah absolutely. A whole new page, yeah? No more Sid or Michelle or any of that bollocks. "And don't worry Tony, you'll remember everything eventually just like before, only until then I'm totally happy to like fill you in and everything." she reached out for his hand and squeezed it gently. "And I know you'll be fine, because you're Tony and you're made of strong stuff right? I'm really glad you're here though and I'm glad you're happy to see me too. So about that offer..?"

"Yes, they certainly do deserve each other, both Sid and Michelle," he said with a smile, and as he said their names, he suddenly knew the sins they'd done. Ohhh my.. they had been very naughty sinners! "To Hell with them both." Which was sort of interesting, considering that he was really the son of the Devil. "But what we deserve? That's something different. We deserve those who respect us.. we deserve to be with one who will stand by us in hard times." And if that meant each other.. well, Damien could work with that. It also didn't hurt that Cassie was pretty attractive.

He nodded. "Yeah.. you have a point. I'm very capable of handling myself. But you're right, it is good to have some assistance now and then." He could be speaking of followers. But for this girl.. yes, he was referring to a possibility where she could be that helping hand.

"Fresh starts. That's what we have. In fact, that is all we have in this city." He smiled as he felt her face on his hand, then squeezed her hand back in return. "Your offer.. hmm.. yes, I know. But remind me again.. I do like the sound of your voice, after all." He stepped closer to her, very close, and held one hand softly on her shoulder.

"I don't know what I would do without you. Well.. I do, actually, but that's a scary thought. Let's not go there." He whispered into her ear, and no doubt she would feel his light breath on her neck as he spoke, "In fact... if anyone deserves second chances.. it should be us. Don't you think so?"

It was odd really, before Michelle had stolen Sid from her Cassie would actually have felt bad for Michelle. For Tony leaving her like this, but then she'd lost all caring feelings for Michelle when she'd taken the one good thing away from her. Of course there was also the fact that Tony probably hadn't left Michelle, but then she didn't know that, which was just as well or she'd have felt even angrier.

If she was honest she wasn't sure she deserved that at all, it had been easy with Sid because he was sort of easy, always eager to please and do whatever was needed of him because he was so grateful that someone was willing to sleep with him. Still the idea was nice, especially coming from Tony, or at least someone she genuinely thought was him. "Oh yeah, right I mean...it's just not always that easy is it? Only," she looked down at her feet flushing, she desperately needed another drink to stop herself worrying about this so much, "well I'd be there, you know? I would have been after the accident if I'd not been in a whole different conutry and the way Michelle treated you when you getting better, you shouldn't treat someone you're supposed to love like that." She looked a bit like she was about to cry as she spoke, but she managed to more or less keep it together.

"Well you know anything you need. If you get confused about anything or whatever I'm here. You're staying in the apartments right? And it's not like I'm about to go anywhere," particularly not if she thought Tony needed her. She liked feeling needed, it stopped her dwelling on her own shit.

She shivered as he moved closer to her, she'd had dreams like this sometimes, after Sid and Michelle had left them both. She wasn't entirely sure if she should revoice her offer though, she was still so messed up after everything that had happened back home and she really didn't want to drag Tony down with her. "Well I suppose it like still applies, yeah? But I meant well that maybe now Sid and Michelle are together maybe we could like try...us," she took a shaky breath and looked up at him hopefully, "I mean you don't have to, but it'd just be like a date or something."

Then of course he said the things about not wanting to be here without her and she smiled warmly. She knew she shouldn't be quite so happy about this. She'd completely lost it after she'd caught Sid and Michelle together and as one of her teachers had said just before she came here 'why cut yourself whe you can be in love.' Still she knew that now and it wasn't as if she loved Tony she just liked him a lot, so what harm couold it really do? "Oh wow, yeah totally. So...is that a yes then?"

Damien smiled, pleased with how easy it was to fool someone. He thought that it was a bit late to drop the charade now, mostly because this girl would be one very pissed off human. And besides.. this was fun. He enjoyed this.

"I know," he said in a reassuring tone, "I know that I can always count on you. Unlike that girl, Michelle.. you would never leave me to the dogs when things got tough. Clearly, you would be the better choice."

He was closer now, his hands just slightly on her hips. He nodded. "Us. Hmm, now there's an interesting idea. One that is very hard to resist." He caressed her cheek with his palm as he continued, "Ohhh.. Mm, it could very well be a 'yes,' no doubt of that. I don't see how anyone could say no to a talented and honest girl like you."

He paused then. "Haven't got one yet, I've been staying in Brooklyn with a new friend. But.. I've met a guy. He offered to let me stay with him at his Prideview residence. It's.. odd, he looks almost like me. Weird. His name is Damien." He figured he should create an alibi, in case she'd get suppose seeing his posts on the boards. "Oh! Did you happen to change your citizenship to American? Or at least get a driver's license, or NY state ID? If you do, I'd like to see it."

Perhaps had she not wanted it to be Tony so much she might have realised something was wrong, not that he was all that different from Tony of course, not the new improved Tony at least.

The way he talked about Michelle seemed slightly odd, but enough that she'd think anything was wrong though. It was easy to ignore the things you didn't want to notice and Cassie had always been pretty good at deluding herself. "Well no, but then I mean Michelle, she doesn't get it you know? Everything's so fucking easy for her and then you got sick and it changed everything." She understood why Michelle had stopped seeing Tony while he was ill because she was she selfish and couldn't deal with having to look after someone else. It was different Cassie because she'd always been the one to look after her brother and herself and she knew what it was like when everything went to hell, how important it was that someone was there when you fell. "Although it's not like I'm exactly the most together person you know? But I'd have tried at least," she smiled slightly. She really wished she'd been in Bristol after Tony's accident, still at least she'd come home eventually. And the fact that they were here now, well that had to fate didn't it?

"Oh wow," she breathed, beaming at him, as she wrapped her arms around him, careful not to to shift his hold on her, because being this close to whoever he was was pretty nice. "That's so lovely!"

She raised an eyebrow when he said he'd met someone that looked like him, because he was right it was odd, almost unbelievable in fact. "If you're trying to be someone else here I get that," she assured him, "I've done that myself before now because well it's nice isn't it, pretending? It doesn't matter what you're calling yourself. Fresh start and all that yeah? But no I didn't, I mean it's not that easy is it changing your citizenship and I wasn't sure if I was going to stay here or not. I just needed to get away and America seemed like it'd be fun. I mean I will do now, since you're here. And I have fake ID, since there's this whole stupid over 21 thing to drink here. Typical isn't it, I can finally drink legally back home and I decide to come here where I can't anymore. It's pretty good though, see?" she asked, pulling one arm away and fishing in her jacket pocket for it before handing it to him, while ignoring what an odd question that was.

Damien nodded with her in agreement. "Yeah, Michelle did have it easy.. it's easy to turn your back on someone when they have trouble downstairs.. which I can damn well guarantee, is not a problem now. Or if they aren't completely better, it's easy to leave me and sleep with a doormat." He smiled then. He hadn't known those things before, it was odd how answers sometimes just came to him.

"I know you try. That's all anyone can ask.. is just, for the effort at least. Even if you fucking fail and suck at it.. at least give it a shot. I'm not saying you suck at it.. quite the opposite. You do a lot better than Mich, just by being here.. you know?"

He returned the gesture, holding his arms around her as well. "Mm.. yes, it is always fun to pretend. It's alright, so long as you know who you are inside. Yes.. fresh starts. For both of us." He kissed her hotly on the neck then, before watching her pull something out of her pocket. "I might be able to see if it's a reliable fake ID. Wouldn't want to have a shitty one and get busted for it, would we?"

"He wasn't that bad," she replied, feeling a sudden pang of guilt about Sid, "he just...he didn't think that was the problem. He was always so eager to please everyone but you just can't do that can you? You have to pick the right people and try to please them. It's good that you're better though."

"That's just chance though isn't it? Us being here at the same time? I mean I just sort of ran and ended up here. I'm glad I did though," she added quickly, even though she'd wanted to get away from everything Tony had never been the big problem he'd just somehow ended up in the middle of the whole big mess that was Cassie's life. "And I've had practice taking care of people haven't I? Because I never exactly got it the other way round until I started living with Chris." But she wasn't going to think about him, she couldn't it was too fucked up and would drag her back down.

"And you think it'll work?" she asked, resting against him, though it was as much about the need for comfort as the need for him in that moment, "because well everything goes wrong in the end doesn't it? If you give it enough time?" She shook her head, clearly she was sobering up and thinking too much about the past and future. It had been better when all she'd been thinking about was how Tony was here and clearly wanted her. But then he kissed her and it didn't matter so much. She thought of what Sid had said about being here now and how that was best he could do. It was the best anyone could do really wasn't it? And at least Tony didn't hold quite so many horrible memories for her. "Hey, I'm not like a amateur here," she pointed out, "so what do you think? No one's questioned it so far."

Damien agreed, "Yes, it is a coincidence that we both ran into each other here tonight. But I'm glad that we did. Good to know that there's someone I know here from Bristol."

He paused, knowing full well that things often go wrong. It was the way of the world. Ohh, it's nice to think that some people can get a happy ending.. but Damien, being who he was, knew that this wasn't always a case. Sometimes thing can go so horribly and violently wrong.

But he didn't want to say this, at the risk of creeping her out.. and besides, he doubted Tony would have. "Well, it's life. Never know how it'll go. Could go either way, just got to know when to take a chance."

Damien looked at her ID. Cassie Ainsworth. He looked at the photo on it as well, then glanced back into her eyes as he spoke. "Oh sure, top notch. If no one's questioned it, then there's nothing to worry about, yeah? I think it's just fine."

"I sort of wanted to get away from everything," she admitted, "but I think maybe it's better that I didn't, because well this is sort of nice, yeah?" How things should have been, or maybe more accurately could. "Plus I don't know I think maybe getting away for a little while helped and we're still away aren't we? So we're not being constantly reminded of everything that happened." She paused and smiled at him as he spoke, she needed the reassurance and oddly enough someone that was so like Tony was giving it to her so she really wasn't about to mess it up by dwelling on everything even if she knew everything always turned to shit, because perhaps he could stop that happening, or at least make her think he could.

"Or you know maybe I've just been getting lucky because well they don't seem to care so much about the girls do they? How are you doing? I mean have you got ID too? Although you look loder than I do anyway so I guess you probably wouldn't need it as much would you?" she asked quickly, "cos you know I kind of wouldn't mind another drink now actually, unless you wanted to get back? I have stuff in my room actually, if you'd rather do that?"
