CHARACTERS: Oz & [open!]
SETTING: The Magic Box, mid afternoon on 19 April
RATING: GP
SUMMARY: Oz follows an urge and winds up back on the hellmouth

Sitting in his parked van, he focused on he pattering of rain on the tin roof. It was soothing in that small way in which cities seldom were. He needed to calm his nerves and quell that voice that told him that he shouldn't be here. That he just wasn't ready to face this part of his past. Not that the Daniel Osbourne from those days really existed anymore. He was different. He had seen so much in those years away, walked a new life from anything he ever thought of. No more than a hundred feet away all he saw was that door.

Oz hadn't been planning to make the twenty minute drive to Prescott Valley when he left his house this morning. In fact, he had only gone out to pick up a few things at the market. The drive had been filled with a sense of anxiety; was he ready to go back there, to see her again? Not that he believed that seeing her was the point of his journey, but it was inevitable. Surely the better part of a decade would be enough.

With the wolf moon night it was almost like he was returning as he did all those years ago. He hadn't been prepared then, he expected her to be waiting. Now, there were no expectations because their lives had long since split onto two different paths looping back together again for a brief interlude before continuing forward. Oz didn't know what the future held, in fact he wasn't even quite sure about the present so he just put his faith in some greater destiny. The road would take him where he needed to be and for whatever reason he needed to be in Prescott Valley today. And clearly today he needed to stop running from his past.

His fingers idly ran over the charms around his wrist, a silent prayer in his head to give him the strength to make the right choice this time. If only if it were so easy to simply get out of the van and walk into the shop. It would be like walking back into another land or another time. Oz shook his head. All of this was ridiculous, he could practically hear Jordy taunting him to either 'shit or get off the pot' because he wasn't doing anyone any favors waiting around.

He opened the van door and ran across the street, trying to get out of the rain as quickly as possible, but he pause just outside the door. Oz needed a moment to build up that courage before he pushed open the door. It felt like it was eight years ago. He stood there a moment, until he naturally gained the attention of the room, but he was painfully aware of every nuance of his body and the shifting room around him. "Hey."
