WHO: Kennedy and OPEN TO ANYONE
WHAT: making her way into town
WHEN: nowish? Tuesday evening.
WHERE: right outside some Prescott Valley Hotel.
RATING: TBD
this was actually my sample, but I thought it would make a good start for an open thread

Kennedy had absolutely no idea what she was doing. Even as she made her way into town, she didn't know why she was here. Something was pulling her, calling her. Weird dreams, a general feeling in her gut during her waking hours - anyone else would have dismissed it all, but Kennedy had seen and been through enough to know better.

She shivered as she passed the welcome sign. She didn't know why, but there was something about this place. Only she did know why. It was the Hellmouth. It was Sunnydale. They could rebuild and slap a new name on it, but the place was still the same. She could feel it in her gut. She could try and convince herself the clenching in her gut was all about wondering if Willow would feel it, too, if she'd come face to face with her ex again, if she was ready, but deep down, Kennedy knew better. Something was brewing underneath her feet.

Kennedy's fists clenched at her sides as she moved through the town, searching for a place to stay. It wasn't evident in her appearance, but she still had her family's money and she headed towards what looked like a hotel.

She was ready. Whatever was coming, she knew she was ready to take it on.

Hours of staring at her laptop's screen had given Alex the beginnings of a brutal migraine. Rather than wait and see if it would worsen or fade she took a large aspirin and crashed out on the huge, comfy hotel bed. When she finally woke hours later the sun outside had already set and she felt a world better, her headache was gone and she was filled with energy.

After shaking off the initial grogginess she changed and stopped long enough to check her email before grabbing her gladius and heading out for the night. Strapping the sword and sling to her back, Alex bypassed the elevator and hopped down the one flight of stairs separating her from the lobby. Crossing through the quiet entrance area, Alex dug out her cell phone and almost debated calling Willow to fill the short walk, bumping into someone standing outside the main doors. "Sorry," she apologised quickly, muttering as she thought better and stowed her cell back in her pocket.

Kennedy hadn't exactly been paying careful attention to her surroundings, either, and she cursed herself for that when she found herself being bumped into. Hands immediately came up in a defensive pose, though she dropped them again as the girl who'd bumped her apologized.

"It's alright," she muttered, though her demeanor was hardly friendly. She looked the blonde over, sizing her up. Her eyes caught the sword strapped to the girl's back and she gave her a curious look.

"Interesting choice of accessories you have there."

Alex stared blankly at Kennedy as she jumped into a defensive pose and relaxed. Some people were just too high strung, if she was a more outgoing person she might suggest the other woman try decaf to help relax.

Obviously unwilling to discuss the reasoning behind her hardware choice. Alex merely shrugged, flashing what she hoped was a reassuring smile before starting back down the sidewalk. "Never know what you might run into," she explained seriously, even if the tone was trying for playful.
