Harry Potter was one of the most famous wizards of modern time, also known as the 'Boy who lived' and the 'Chosen One'. He is known for being the cause of Voldemort's first downfall and is responsible for the Dark Lord's final defeat. After the Second Wizarding War he became an Auror and rose to the position of Head Auror at the age of 26. By the summer of 2020 Harry was promoted to the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Ron was a member of Dumbledore's army and demonstrated a talent for Wizard's Chess. After the Second Wizarding War he became an Auror, along side Harry. Ron was an Auror for two years before retiring and joining his brother George at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Hermione was the founder of Dumbledore's army and was top of her year, while attending Hogwarts. After graduating Hogwarts she went to work for the Ministry of Magic, working in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures and the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Just a few short weeks before the season opener, the Quidditch world is rocked by scandal. It has been exposed that members of last season's champions, the Kenmare Kestrels, were taking illegal performance enhancing potions, calling their historic undefeated season into question. Those involved in the scandal, including players and team administration, have been removed from the active duty, pending investigation. The Kenmare Kestrels are hastily filling the newly opened positions in time for the start of the season. New calls for increased Ministry oversight of the BIL have emerged, citing this most recent incident. Meanwhile, the Chudley Cannons are pinning their hopes on a new international player that will finally ensure (they hope) that the team will finish any place but last this season. The Holyhead Harpies have signed their first openly transgender player, causing a ripple among the Quidditch world. The Wimbourne Wasps have been bought by a new owner, who recently won a WWN contest that made dreams come true. Marauders!: An 80s AU [26 Jun 2017|02:30pm] 80smaraudersmod Marauders! is an AU based on the idea that canon happened, but everybody lived. Maybe with some physical or psychological damage, but the Potters survived Voldemort, Sirius didn't go to prison, the Lestranges were caught before they drove the Longbottoms insane, Dumbledore is still a manipulative bastard but he got shit done much more quickly than in canon, etc. If you can make a case for their survival, almost* any Marauders-era character (who is out of Hogwarts in 1987) can be applied for. We might deal with the Death Eaters/Voldemort eventually, but I really just wanted a fun, 1980s sandbox to play in and I hope others do to. I want this to be a collaborative effort between writers, so while I have a couple ideas to get us started, a lot will depend on the people who decide they might like to add a sand sculpture or two to this sandbox. Let's just call this a writing experiment, and see where we go. *Regulus Black still died in the cave, but he told Kreacher to trust Sirius so the Order knew about the Horcrux. Speculation as to Regulus' motives for getting the truth to Sirius abounds, but most agree he wanted to go down in history as being just as heroic as his brother; Peter had a change of heart and died rather than betray his friends, and the Lestranges are in Azkaban.
