This here is Helen Cowrie - her friends call her Jack (Her middle name is Jacqueline). Before the war she had plans to be a singer in a big band and dreams of heading out to Hollywood. But when the U.S. was brought into the war, it all changed for her. Her baby brother was killed in action and she's waiting for here older brother and father to return. She decided to stay home to be with her mother and help out Taylor (who is also her cousin-in-law) with her restaurant. She's not sure what else she is going to do with her life now.
