►The outcome/score of this match was determined before game start by random dice rolls. ►Hufflepuff scored just one goal, the first of the game, by Captain Thomas Wood. ►Slytherin scored five goals overall. Stephen Corner scored the second goal of the game. He proceeded to score once more. Maria Cauldwell scored twice. Jake Willis scored once. ►The match lasted forty-two minutes. The sky was overcast for the entire match and the air was crisp and cool, but with only a slight breeze. ►Slytherin Captain Maria Cauldwell snatched up the Quaffle after the toss and attempted to pass to Jake Willis, but her throw was wide and Thomas Wood took possession, then easily dodged Oliver Avery to score the first goal just two minutes into the game. ►After this, the Quaffle changed hands several times before the next attempt on a goal. Hufflepuff Chaser Liam Elkins attempted to score, but Slytherin Beater Damien Boot knocked the Quaffle from midair before it even entered the scoring area. Soon after, Stephen Corner took possession and faked out Eira Cattermole to score. ►Slytherin's Chasers attempted some fancy plays early in the game. All three of them sped towards the goalposts, passing the Quaffle back and forth rapidly, but Graham Elkins and Gabriel Zeller each flew directly at one Chaser, leaving Stephen Corner on his own to toss the Quaffle neatly into Eira Cattermole's hands. Since Neither Elkins nor Zeller collided with a Slytherin, no foul was called. ►The Slytherin Beaters were on top form today. When Hufflepuff's Genevieve Malkin was heading toward the goal, Skye Davies hit a Bludger at her stomach and knocked the wind out of her. Malkin barely managed to remain on her broom, but she dropped the Quaffle and it was snatched up by Maria Cauldwell. Eira Cattermole was distracted by yet another masterful Bludger hit by Davies, which allowed Cauldwell to score. ►About half an hour into the match, Julien Smith spotted the Snitch. The crowd rose to their feet and Anastasia Morgan sped after him, but before either Seeker could get close, Skye Davies aimed a Bludger at Smith. He spun on his broom and slammed into Morgan. Though the collision was an accident, Hooch called a foul, and Maria Cauldwell took the penalty for Slytherin successfully. ►Both Liam Elkins and Genevieve Malkin attempted to score over the course of the next few minutes, but Oliver Avery saved both attempts easily. As Malkin tried to score, Gabriel Zeller tried to distract Avery with a Bludger, but Damien Boot kept it from coming close. ►The match ended when Julien Smith and Anastasia Morgan took off after the Snitch again. This time, Morgan was in the lead, but Graham Elkins aimed a Bludger at her head. She ducked, which allowed Smith to take the lead and come up with the Snitch just moments later. |
