Who: Nina and Albus What: Teenage awkwardness FTW Where: The Astronomy Tower When: Thursday night, about 11 so before the classes get there Rating: PG-PG13ish? Status: Closed/Complete
While yes, she had answered his owls and responded to his comments in journals, Nina had made damn sure that in no way, shape, or form they would come face to face. Class was sometimes difficult, but no so much if she could keep her head locked on a page in her book or staring at the ceiling religiously. Sh was oddly good at strange things like that. It really hurt her to be ignoring her best friend. I mean bloody hell, that had been friends since their first year, always doing silly things together and messing around with each other and it continued even until now. But never in a million years did she think Albus could possibly like her like that. Nor did she think she was able to reciprocate those feelings. She still wasn't completely sure what was going on with her, but she wouldn't just blatantly kiss someone if some inner feelings weren't at work.
"Well shit," she muttered to herself, casting a small ward over on the staircase to alert her if anyone was on their way up to the Astronomy tower. She at least had enough sense to do that, even though her body was so tense that her muscles physically hurt. She just needed to calm down. She drew a cigarette out of her pocket and lit it, inhaling deep and letting the nicotine cool off her frayed nerves. Yes, this wasn't the best way to deal with stress and she knew that. But it worked, and no one really knew what exactly she was going through. She wasn't about to sit there and explain why she needed to do this either. That was her business and nobody else's unless she decided to be in a sharing mood. She hopped up onto an open window and looked above her at the clear sky. The Astronomy students would have a perfect view of everything tonight. But for right now, she just wanted to look from right were she was, no telescope involved.
Ever since Albus found his calling in this tower, he always talked about how nice it was. She had taken up in the past few months coming up here to be by herself and relax. She was there undisturbed for about five minutes, long enough to nearly finish her smoke when her ward alerted her to someone coming up the stairs. She flicked her cigarette out of the window and quickly cleared the air with a swipe of her wand before putting a small charm on her breath to clear the smell. Some people who smoked enjoyed that nasty after smell and taste, she however didn't. She prided herself on always smelling good.
She was prepared to come up with any excuse she could fathom for whoever was coming up here, but when she saw who it was she nearly fell out the window. Regaining her composure she managed to mutter, "You scared me."
