You don't really need an excuse...
"I hate reports," Gibbs grumbled as John set the crystal containing all the files and reports from investigation his team just finished on his desk. Pushing away from his computer, the older man looked at it before lifting his eyes up to him. "You could've just sent that through the network, you know."
"Yeah, but I know the one thing you hate more than reports," he said, crossing his arms.
"Inscribing the crystal to send to the TISCI director back on Earth." Gibbs snorted and shook his head. "I think she's more computer-phobic than I am. Thanks, Sheppard."
"No problem."
Gibbs pointed to the chair across his desk. "What's the latest on the Gemini investigation?"
"Tim's running an analysis of the video we took of the scene and Allie's going over the evidence we collected," John told him as he sat down in the chair. "But we also found some writings. Not sure of the language."
"Guess I don't have to ask who you're going to go see about that?"
John raised his eyebrows as he stood up. "What's that supposed to mean? She's good."
"And she's single."
"I'll let you know what she figures out."
"You don't need an excuse to go see her, you know. Just ask her out."
Shaking his head, John headed out of Gibbs' office and went down to his desk in what they called the pit. Of course, nothing on Poseidon could be considered a pit. Tim McGee was staring at his screen, working his way through the footage. Allie was nowhere to be seen, which meant she was probably in one of the labs. Reaching down, John picked up the tablet that Tim had transcribed all the writing from the scene into.
"I'm going to the library. I'll be back in a bit," he told him.
Looking up, Tim arched his eyebrows for a moment, looking like he was about to say something, before shaking his head and returning to his work. John decided to ignore everyone trying to put their nose in his personal life.
Even if they right.
Heading to the library, John headed through and back to where he'd knew he'd find her. It was where she usually was.
"Jennifer?" he called out, softly though since this was a library. "Jennifer, you there?"
