Carson smiled when Fred said that him holding her was perfect. Maybe he could tell her that he wanted more than friendship.
Before he could, however, Fred moved away, and suddenly he wondered if he had misheard her. Until she started saying something about knowing he was interested in someone else. Carson's eyes widened as he opened his mouth to tell her she was wrong, but again before he could, she was suddenly kissing him.
Oh God. Fred was kissing him. It was a soft and light kiss, but still it was a kiss. And he felt himself freeze in amazement. Breath, Carson. Breath, you daft idiot. When she pulled back, he found himself staring at her as she asked her question.
"No," he finally managed to make himself say as he reached out to touch her face. "The opposite. Because you're the one I'm interested in. Fred, I've liked you since the first time I met you, and I've wanted to tell you, but I wasn't sure if you felt the same way. I didn't want to push it if you weren't interested, so...oh bugger it."
Moving closer, his fingers slid to tangle in her hair as he brought his lips to hers for another kiss.
