Carson nodded at Fred, not trusting his voice again for the moment. He couldn't believe that she had actually asked him over to her place to spend time with her. Of course, that didn't mean she wanted anything more than friendship, but still...he was getting to spend time with her, and that was a first step. "That sounds wonderful," he told her. "Is there anything I can bring? I actually finally figured out where the shop is."
When she said that she had to get back because of her meeting with Landry, Carson felt a little disappointed. But he knew both of them had work they had to do. Accidents would wait for no one. And neither would General Landry.
"Well, if you need someone to visit when she's here, feel free to bring them by A&E or my office," he told her. "I'll be glad to help any way that I can."
Picking up all his rubbish, he stood up and held his hand out to her to help her up. "I'd love to walk you back," he told her. As they went back to the hospital wing, he looked over at her with a smile. "Fred...thank you. For inviting me to lunch. I had a wonderful time with you, and I'm really looking forward to tonight."
