Fred was glad to get back to the city. She liked going on missions but it was also nice to be home. When they arrived in medical, and Doctor Hayes said there wasn't enough stalls for all of them, Fred sat down and said she would wait. When Carson sat down next to her, she gave him a smile. "How did you like your first mission?" she asked.
When it was their turn, Fred took Carson's hand and walked back with him. She figured everyone was going to find out about them sooner or later, and there was no sense in hiding it. Once they were by the shower stalls, Doctor Hayes took their blood and left to give them some privacy. Fred stripped off her clothes and looked at Carson. She was almost tempted to ask if he wanted to wash her back but knew it wasn't proper protocol. So Fred gave him a quick kiss and hopped into her stall.
After scrubbing herself down, Fred turned off the water and got out. "I'm taking a shower when we get home," she said as she wrinkled her nose. "That soap stinks." She dried off and put her scrubs off before walking to the exam room with Carson. She was surprised to see Luka there and not Doctor Hayes. "Where's Hayes?"
"I sent him to get out of his hazmat suit," Luka said. "The blood tests came back and you aren't infected with anything but I still want to do a quick exam." He patted the exam table next to him. "Hop up."
Fred followed his instructions and got up on the table. Luka checked her ears and throat before checking her glands. "I see someone learned how to keep his warms," she said with a small laugh.
"I learned quickly after you yelled at me," Luka said with a laugh before he looked at Carson. "Fred was sick and I was checking her glands, and she yelled at me for having cold hands."
"I was sick and grumpy," Fred pointed out.
Luka merely shook his head and put his stethoscope on. When he slipped his hand under the back of Fred's shirt so he could listen to her lungs, she found herself shuddering a bit. She didn't know if it was because Luka had such a soft touch or if was because of something else.
"All right. You're perfectly healthy. Go home, get something to eat and get some rest," he said before he glanced at Carson. "You're next."
