When the two counts met and talked things over, they had realized that they both had feelings for the silver haired liaison from the Vatican, and thus, it became a competition to win his gentle heart. Count D, the exotic owner of just as exotic pets, introduced Father Abel Nightroad to wondrous sweets and Oriental teas while showing him the collection of animals that were part of Count D’s menagerie. The Count of Candles invited Abel on long walks through his garden and loaned him books from his library to read during the occasional picnic he asked the priest on. They had been careful to keep all knowledge of their competition from Abel, but it became quite apparent that they had failed when Abel marched into the Palace of Candles one afternoon and demanded that they get along or that they both would loose him. He wasn’t a prize to be dickered over.
That had started a change in their relationship. No longer was it two couples, but a trio, as they learned to get along and integrate into each others lives. There were rough patches, but they managed to stick together to work through them, coming out stronger because of it. As the two Counts continued to get along, Abel started returning the attention that they had showered him with, sharing casual touches and eventually kisses.
Which lead to a whole new question between the two Counts. Whose bed would Abel end up in first?
