“Don’t do it, Severus!” Trelawny pleaded.
“Do what?” an irritated potions master replied, sighing heavily as the divination professor seated herself next to him.
“This.”
She threw down a tarot card. The Tower. It pictured a tall tower being struck by lightning, an older man falling from its heights.
Severus blanched. She must be wrong. It would not happen. Not like that.
“There is something else,” she continued, showing the page of swords, a snake. “The cause of your death in return.”
Snape was silent.
“I know the truth,” Trelawny whispered before leaving.
Snape thought maybe divination wasn’t completely wooly.
