Library Books
Title:Library Books
Rating:PG
Pairing:Lily/James
Summary:Library time with Lily Evans.
Lily Evans walked down the hall quickly. She had just enough time to do some more research on that Potions essay that was due Friday before her next period: Transfiguration. She needn't worry. Professor Sluggard favored her before any other, and even if she didn't finish in time, she would most likely get a good grade or some extra time, or maybe she would be able to do some extra credit. Lily loved doing extra credit. Studying was so easy for her, unlike her friends. She guessed it had to be because she used to go to a muggle school, and they had to take tests and memorize things.
Yes, Lily used to be regular. She played hop-scotch with her sister, she learned math and spelling, and she used to live in a nice one-story house. But once she turned eleven, she went to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Oh, boy wasn't she excited! Her parents always thought she was special, but they didn't expect this.
And that's where she was when she stepped into the library. She dumped her bag into an empty chair and went to looking in the `W' section. The potion they were studying was Wolf's Bane, a potion to help werewolves. Half of the books she had already looked in and the others hardly had a paragraph about it in them. She was looking on the last row when someone tapped her on the shoulder. She looked up and smiled. "Hello, Remus!" she said.
"Hey, Lily." Remus smiled and pulled out a book from behind his back. "Are you looking for more facts about the essay for Potions?"
"How did you know?"
He grinned. "Lily, the only other person who studies as much as me is you. Here, take this." He handed her the book. "It's very informative."
"Facts You Won't Find in the Library About Werewolves by Thomas Dregle," Lily read aloud. "Wow! Thanks Remus. When do you want it back?"
"Whenever you're done with it."
"Thanks!"
Lily smiled and walked back to the table where she had left her bag. She sat down and opened the book. It had a whole two chapters on potions! How lucky was she? She began making notes when she heard laughter. A few tables away Sirius and James were laughing while Remus read. Peter was watching the two leaders. They were throwing a ball back and forth; when it was caught it let out odd noises. Lily frowned and continued writing until she heard her name.
"Hey, Evans! Are you going out with Remus or something, because you sure smiled a lot when he gave you that book?"
It was Sirius. Remus hid himself even more behind his book. James just laughed. Lily sighed. It was like this everyday The Marauder s bothered her, well, actually it was Sirius and James who did that.
"Aww.Remus is hiding!" James said. "If you were dating her, you should have said something!"
"We are not dating!" Lilly shouted. She picked up her things and walked briskly out of the library. Then she broke into a fun. She didn't stop until she came to the Transfiguration classroom. It was empty, but she went in anyway.
Why did they pick on her constantly? And why was it that she and James always fought? She sighed again and opened her book and read for a few moments, and then it hit her. They liked each other. She couldn't help but to give out a girlish giggle.
"What is so funny, Miss Evans?" Professor Mcgonagall asked. She was standing behind her desk with a small grin.
"Oh, nothing, Professor."
Professor Mcgonagall nodded, but she knew why she giggled. She knew.
