Rating:PG
Pairing:Pippin/Diamond

Written for stringdancegirl!
Pippin got into bed next to his wife . She smiled at him and motioned for him to feel her stomach.
"He's moving again, Pippin. I can just tell it's a he."
Pippin put his hand where Diamond placed it. Sure enough he felt a kick. He laughed.
"I cannot wait for our little one to be born." Pippin laid his head where his hand was. "You're going to grow up and be a strong lad aren't you? Yes, you are! And some day you'll be Thain and you'll have a pretty wife just like your mother!"
Diamond laughed. "It's so funny when you talk to my stomach. It makes me feel odd"
"I'm talking to little Faramir here!"
"I know you are, but when you go around with people touching you all day and then your husband is talking to your son inside of you, you start to feel a little weird."
Pippin moved and kissed his wife on the cheek. "I love you, Diamond"
"I love you, too, Pippin." Diamond closed her eyes and sighed. "Out of all of the suitors I had I chose you."
"Why is that?" Pippin put his arms around her shoulders and hugged her tight.
"You're not like the others. Only wanting women to cook and clean and keep house. You wanted me because you loved me. And look at us now. We are to have a child...together. You are so excited unlike other men would be. This makes me so happy."
Pippin smiled. "I've always loved you. I loved you since the first time I saw you long ago at the river."
"You remember that?"
"Yes. It was night and there were torches all along the river bank and everyone was swimming. You were there with your hair in bows. You were so beautiful. And I loved how you weren't afraid of the water like most of the women. You dived right in! It was perfect."
Diamond opened her eyes and smiled at Pippin.
"Who else but a Took would remember me diving into water?"
"Only someone who truly needed that memory to cherish forever."
Diamond blushed. "Pippin, that is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard you say."
Pippin looked down at the sheets on the bed. "It's true,Diamond."
At this Diamond and Pippin kissed each other good-night, and slept. And both dreamed swimming at the river with music, firelight, and bows in Diamond's hair.
