Make the Sun Shine
Title:Make the Sun Shine
Rating:PG-13
Pairing:Merry/Pippin
Summary:Even with wives and children, Merry and Pippin will always have something special.
Sitting cross-legged on his bed, Pippin watched Merry bustle around the room picking up his clothes discarded from the night before. Pippin would giggle whenever Merry bent over, making Merry blush and to show himself off.
"Better hide that ripped shirt under my bed, Merry," Pippin advised. "If anyone finds it, they'll think I did it."
"You did do it!" Merry said shoving the shirt under the bed. "Along with my underclothes."
Pippin grinned. "Yes, and you made enough racket to wake the whole Eastfarthing!"
"I'm glad my mother knows how I am, that way she won't come running into my room, afraid I had been bit or stabbed every time you-"
Pippin cut Merry off. "Half the time you were bit, and you had something to show to you old Ma."
Merry hopped onto the bed next to his cousin.
"Yes, and spiders really bite that hard and make that big a bite mark," he said rolling his eyes.
"It was a really big spider," Pippin said earnestly
"Oh, I know. And it has a bi-"
Footsteps echoed in the hallway and a few floorboards creaked.
"It's your Da!" Pippin whispered.
The two hid their clothes under the bed and climbed under the covers, making sure to pull the sheets high enough as not to show any skin. Pippin moved to the edge while Merry slid down in the bed on the opposite side. The door opened half way. Merry's Da stood there for a moment, and went away muttering things that sounded like "at least the were quiet" and "I better get a grandchild anyway". After he left, Pippin lunged at Merry, wrapping his arms around his lover's waist.
"You hear that? He expects you to have a baby. Don't know how you're going to manage that one."
Merry chuckled. "Or you for that matter."
Pippin was silent for some while. Then he said, "I wish we didn't have to go find wives and such one day. I wish we could be together."
Merry rolled over. "That's not going to happen, Pippin. It just won't. It's one thing that our parents accepted us tupping each and every weekend, but not getting married is another thing. They expect us to marry a good lass and produce heirs; there's no way around it."
"I know," Pippin sighed. "I just wish we can still be together, though."
Merry put his arms around Pippin. "We can. Not like we are now, but we still can be together. If we marry anyone, they will have to understand our relationship, even though we won't be hopping into your or my bed all the time"-Pippin laughed at this "-but that we have something special, something no one can break."
"Yes," Pippin agreed. He snuggled close to Merry. "And my future wife has to resemble you."
"Pippin!"
"Really! I have problems going to sleep at night if you're not next to me."
"Is that true?"
Pippin nodded. "Yes, so that's four out seven days a week I lie staring at the ceiling early in the morning before sunrise. My mother doesn't like it. She complains about the bags under my eyes."
"Your ma's just doing what all mother do," Merry said with a grin. "If your wife looks like me, then mine will have your light personality. I like being with you. You make everything dark in the world go away so I can see the Sun."
Smiling, Pippin leaned up to Merry and kissed him lightly on the lips. "You make my Sun shine as well."
"And you, my love, make the rain go away and the birds sing."
Pippin smiled and said, "I will always love you Merry, even with a wife and children and all the responsibilities to look after, I will always love you."
"And I will love you ever on, too."
There they laid in each others arms for the rest of the night, smiles on their faces and love in their hearts, as they always will.
