Unkissed Candy
Another holiday House fic! I'm on a roll! ^_^ I hope you enjoy it!
Title:Unkissed Candy
Rating: G
Summary: House thinks of his mother on Christmas Eve.
Wilson walked down the halls of PPTH with two large bags. He turned the corner when a cane stuck itself out in front of his feet.
“House.”
“Wilson.” House had a grim look on his face as his eyes grazed over the snowflakes hanging overhead. “What's in the bags?”
“Movies and holiday candy.” Wilson gave him a curious look. “Why?”
“Just thought they might be for somebody.”
“They are. The kids in the cancer ward. What?” Wilson asked as they walked down the hall together. “You want a candy cane?”
“It's on the top of my wish list. A big one with a bow.”
“Thought so. Hey!” Wilson tried to pull a bag away as House rummaged through it. “What are you doing?”
“I want to see if you have them.” House continued look through the bag, and grabbed for the other.
“If I have what?”
“Chocolate-covered cherries,” House said innocently. He looked up and smiled, which Wilson blinked at. Was House in the Christmas spirit or just wanting candy?
“Those aren't holiday candy, House. Why would I buy them?”
“Thought maybe Jews eat them this time of year.” House glared at a nurse who saw him holding a box of peppermints.
“No. We eat latkes. “ They started down the hall again. “You're acting very peculiar today.”
“It's the holidays. I could have gangrene for all you know.”
“Disgusting. No, really. What's with you?”
“I miss my mom.”
Wilson stopped. He stared and blinked like before. “What the hell, House, did you just come out to me emotionally? I'm...amazed!”
House glared. “Is it wrong the day before Christmas Eve to want your mother? Why am I working here anyway? I should be at home.”
“You could always go home to see your mom.”
Another glare. “No.”
House walked into his office and Wilson fallowed. “You just don't want to be with your father.”
“So?”
“That's why you want chocolate-covered cherries. It's a family thing.”
“It's a mother thing, Wilson. Get it right.”
“You're sentimental today. I've never seen you like this.”
More glaring. “Go see you cancer kids and leave me alone.”
“Leave my bags alone. “ Wilson walked out of the room.

House shook the box like a little kid. The box of candy rattled and a few were out of place when he opened it. House bit one in half and watched the goo of the other half drip on his fingers. He smiled. His mom would kiss his fingers when he did that.
House considered calling his mom, but he knew he'd have to answer to his dad. He always answered the phone for his mother, like she was an invalid. He sighed and ate another chocolate-covered cherry and went to sleep on the sofa with goo unkissed on his fingers.
