![]() :rules: :game: :apps: :characters: :species: :wanted: This whole mess began when some practicing Witches, in their ultimate wisdom, decided to try a rising spell. Now, a rising spell is supposed to summon the gods to transform those who cast it to the next level, igniting the powers within them... only the spell THOSE stupid fuckers cast didn't quite go that way. Whether it was a mistranslation, a wrong turn of phrase, a missed or added ingredient... it doesn't matter, as the next morning thousands upon thousands of humans had been changed. The catch? They didn't know! The spell had ignited some kind of special gene which only resided in those humans so now they could play mind tricks, have whack agility, breathe fire, shit like that which made us Vamps sit up and take notice. Our food was suddenly able to fight back and sometimes it was beyond our capabilities to stop them. There were some Vamps who wanted to reach out to them, to guide them and get them on our side, whereas the rest of us - the ones with their brains intact - realised the real problem. If a Mutaint (like mutants in comics, 'cept they aint) was to be turned into a Vamp, or practice Witchcraft, without knowing of their own power they would be stronger than ten Vampires put together. That gene is like a trigger - once turned it would release a whoole motherfucking mixture of jazz into their veins. We couldn't have that. No fucking way. We still can't. So what we gotta do is find the 'Taints, and make sure that every single last motherfucking one of them is put down. Our survival depends on it. Witches' survival depends on it. Because if a Taint gets Turned... all Hell will break loose. - Bishop |

The Rules || Joining Guidelines || Application Taken Characters & PBs || Wanted List || About DDC The gods have not faded away, or been reborn. They are not in high school. They have not forgotten who they were. They remember, because they still exist. Though their followers are fewer and less vocal, once a god, always a god. The important things have not changed with the passage of time, though with the advance of the mortal world, gods have discovered the joys of modernization. Because even a Muse can appreciate an iPod. Of course the Sumerians are still insular (and a tad stuck up), the Greeks still squabble amongst themselves more than they do with the other pantheons, and the Norse… well, with Loki on the loose and Ragnarok threatened, they do have their hands full. In every pantheon, just as in any group of individuals, you have those that are warm, friendly and open. And those that never learned to work and play well with others. How will they manage to coexist? How have they done so thus far? What happens when Anubis meets Hades? Or Thor challenges Nergal? Come help us answer those questions and tell those stories. Your friendly DDC moderators are: |

New Dublin
New Dublin is a harbor city that has been plagued by gang war for much of the past ten years. Five main groups rose up, each started for different reasons and each have evolved from a few people into much larger entities which control much of the cities nightlife.
Many groups grow fast and die out equally as fast, but the smart ones stick around longer. Each gang has different reasons for being; some for profit, some for security, while others act as guardians for their territory there are some who act as thieves. The tensions between the gangs are harsh and one member caught in another’s territory is met with severe punishment.
There are smaller gangs but the main Five control the greater area of the city. These five came together three years back and created something of a treaty. They all agreed that the wars had come to the loss of to many lives and thus some sort of peace was needed.
In a city where an unsteady treaty is the only thing that binds the gangs in peace, who do you pledge loyalty to? Or are you one of the brave who stands the middle line? Where tech is big, crime is high and brotherhood is more important than blood, where do you call home in New Dublin?

Awakened
Setting
It's morning in London and you wake up. You wake up in an apartment or behind the wheel of a car, on the street corner or in the seat at the cinema, in a diner's booth or on a roof- this is not where you remember falling asleep. As you venture outside (or off the roof) you realize things aren't right. There's no cars, no birds, no people. Save for a few buildings that appear to have collapsed in on themselves everything is in tact, it's like everyone just… left. There's no radio, no TV, no phones … the water still runs but there's no electricity. There are a few other people who you find, but their stories are the same as yours… 'I went to sleep last night, and woke up here'. There are people here from all over the world, some have never been to London before today.
As the sun goes down you find a place to sleep. It's dark, only candles and the moonlight to brighten the darkness. There are no vampires, no werewolves, no mist, no force barrier like in the movies… the night is just as safe or dangerous as the day. When the sun comes up there's a few others who 'wake up', not every night and there's no pattern to it but slowly the number of people grow… and sometimes it shrinks. So what do you do? How do you survive? And more importantly, who can you trust?

What happens to the old gods, once their temples have crumbled and their believers have abandoned them? Do they die, forsaken, alone? Or do they remain, still wandering the world, immortal, surviving off what little belief they can gather? Forgotten Gods follows the lives of these old deities, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers moved on to new religions, the gods' powers waned - for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, attempting to regain the power that was once theirs, to revive their followings. And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the older gods, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep wariness. Inspired by the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, this game invites players to step into the roles of deities, old and new, to create their own modern mythology. |

Welcome to Hamilton, Long Island! Just a short drive away from New York City, Hamilton offers the comfort of suburban living with a close commute for many of the residents. This small town is like many towns in the Northeast: A small town center filled with various little shops, a couple public and a few private schools, houses scattered about the town, and the occasional drama that everyone tends to have.
This game focuses around families. Whether your character is a single parent struggling to get by, a newlywed adjusting to married life, a soccer mom of three, or a playboy who somehow managed to knock up his new girlfriend, it's going to revolve around relationships and parenting. There will be pregnancies, miscarriages, weddings, divorces, bitter break ups - this game is all about seeing the intricate relationships between significant others and their children.
![]() The time.... Present Day. The place... New York City. The grandest city of them all. It's one of those places that everyone knows about; a place where dreams are made and hopes are shattered. More than just a place for writers, artists, poets, actors, business men and women; it is a place where things are lurking in the shadows. A place where beings have always lived amongst the mortals. Beings you and I have heard about but never dreamed were real. That is until one day in the year (2008) it is discovered that creatures we once believed only to exist in stories, television, and movies are REAL. What creatures am I speaking of? Vampires and Shape Shifters of course. They are the creatures that haunt our dreams or that teenagers pretend to be every day of the week. Yes it's true. They're real, and they walk amongst us. In an effort to track down and secure the location of all such beings[Now known as Homo Sapien Sanguis and Homo Sapien Lupus respectively] they are forced to register with the government. There is an entire division of the government, known as the SBI[Supernatural Bureau of Investigation] that are charged with tracking down, registering, and electronically tagging this beings. Any Vampire or Shapeshifter found to not have such a tag is immediately detained, questioned [sometimes tortured really] and forced to be put on probation. This kind of treatment has caused such beings to force themselves into hiding. The best place to hide? In plain sight of course. Do to the clever thinking of a few powerful and older Vampires as well as Shape Shifters a small island in the heart of New York, known as Roosevelt Island has become a sanctuary for such beings. This small island has it's own police force, political structure and is completely self sufficient from the rest of city. For these reasons SBI Agents have a hard time getting onto the island at all. Venture off the island and your life is in your own hands. That ladies and gentlemen is the choice that lies before you. What choice will you make? Registered? Rogue? Hunter? Vampire? Shape Shifter? The choice is yours alone. |
