“I hadn’t noticed.” It wasn’t like Peter hadn’t figured out why Roman acted the way he did. Hell, if Peter had a parent like his, he’d probably act more like Roman too! But, he was lucky enough to have a mother who actually cared about him. Okay, wow, he didn’t expect that to come out of Roman’s mouth or anything truthful really. “What do you think is going to happen, huh? That I’m going to meet somebody and just take off? That’s not going to happen. I already took off once and it was a mistake. I’m not going anywhere even if I did meet something, which I really doubt.” Because that would mean once again dragging somebody into their shit and he really didn’t want that.
The look that crossed Roman’s face only made it clear that he was right. Roman was jealous! “Yeah, I know. But, she’s not here.” It was just the two of them with Nadia and that was fine with him. “Oh, good, because I really have no clue how I should be feeling. Although, I’m glad you’re telling me all of this instead of yelling at me over stupid stuff.” He smiled a bit. Yeah, he was kinda picking on Roman even though they were having a seriously conversation, but this was them. Their serious always had a bit of sarcastic thrown in. “Let’s just stop thinking about it.”
Okay, that he could understand. “I don’t exactly trust it here either.” They were pulled out of their world and dropped into this one by something. So, yeah it made sense not to completely trust this place and what it might be up to. “Well, hey, that’s a good thing to have too.” He finally sat back down on the couch. “I’ll take trying. It’s better than nothing.”
