What? Where? Oh, you mean Salma? For a second I thought you had sighted a darkspawn or something...

A Darkspawn? If I saw one of those I'd just kill it! You wouldn't even know.
I've never seen a salma before. Is it dangerous?

You would just kill it? You're and, eh, experienced darkspawn killer then?
A Salm... She is a horse! Salma is her name! And she isn't dangerous in the slightest.

Well what would you do, talk to it? You don't have to have killed a million Darkspawn to know that that's what you do to them.
Oh, a HORSE. I've heard of horses. You sure it-- she-- isn't dangerous? She's HUGE.

Um, no, I guess I would kill it too. But have you killed any? You seem rather young...
She's as meek as a lamb, well as long as she isn't hungry. Then she gets grumpy.

That's not fair, all dwarves are short! And we're not! You're just tall.
...Uh, grumpy, huh? Is she hungry now?

I didn't mean your height, I meant you not having a beard... And I'm not especially tall at all, eh, well, nevermind.
I don't think so. But if you want to feed her she is usually up for a snack. Have you never met a horse before?

Hmph. Not all dwarves have to have beards. Maybe I don't
want
a beard.
Nope! Probably no reason to bring them all the way up to the Frostbacks, and I don't think they'd fit inside Orzammar. Does she hate snow?

Do you don't want a beard?
They wouldn't fit? Isn't Orzammar huge? And no, why would she hate snow, that would be horribly impractical!

Do YOU want a beard?
It's huge but there are doors! You'd probably have to crawl to get through them, they aren't made for tall people. I don't think a salma could crawl. Horse-- that a horse could crawl.

*laughs*
Even if I did, I think I would have a problem growing one. Unlike you, I might point out.
So...you are saying that the doors are so small that humans have to crawl? I thought dwarfs were practical people and that just sound stupid. You don't like visitors?
And, no she can't crawl. I taught her to kneel, but that is about it.

I'll grow one when I want to. They're...itchy.
Maybe not that small, but not made for horses. And dwarves don't do anything stupid. They don't like visitors in Orzammar, though; they're really picky about who belongs in the city.
You taught her? Does that mean she can do tricks?

Good point. That is why I wouldn't want one anyway.
Yeah, I've heard that much. I'll just have to scratch it from my "Great places in Thedas that I want to visit"-list. And maybe give it a better name while I'm at it...
Well, yes, a few. I have trained her, so I've taught her lots of things.

See, beards are overrated. I bet all sorts of dwarves are going to get rid of them when they realize that.
Well it
still
is a great place, just not to visit, I guess. And what's wrong with its name?
Like what? Can she talk? I heard of a duster, once, who trained a nug to squeal in a pattern like a code so he could talk to it. And then he ate it.

I haven't actually met that many dwarves, so I couldn't say.
Um, nothing. The name of my list. I'm trying to think of something snappier than "Great places in Thedas that I want to visit".
He...he ate it? Are you trying to say... I would NEVER eat my horse, do you hear me!

Really? Well you met me, so that counts for a lot. I'm a good example.
Oh, the LIST. I thought you were talking about Orzammar! It's the greatest dwarven kingdom and it has a very good name. I'll help you think of a better name, I'm good with stuff like that.
What?! Of course you wouldn't, you're not a Duster! Dusters do stupid things like that. --Stop yelling!

You are? Huh.
If you say so. And I can imagine that, well, feel free. It is a ridiculous name, lists are supposed to have short names like 'To do'.
Sorry. You see, where I come from, it's rather offensive to consider eating a horse. They are more useful off a plate...

Short names, huh? How about.... "To Go"?
Nugs are for eating. They're like pigs. You wouldn't ride a pig around, you know? That's why it's silly that the Duster even taught it how to talk, if he was just going to eat it. ...Least, that's what my friend told me.

That..would work I guess. Maybe it's a little short, but now I'm just getting picky.
Oh, right. Well, I did ride a pig once, and my brother laughed at me when I fell off. Perhaps the duster was lonely? That's the only reason I can see for talking to your, eh, food.

"Destinations?" "Places to Visit?" "Travel Guide for Me?"
Pigs aren't made for riding. Not even for dwarves. I think that a Mabari hound might be better, though--they're less round and you could probably fit a saddle on them.

Places to visit, perfect! Do you have a list like that?
A Mabari...you might have something there. Hmmm. Maybe not a leather saddle, something lighter, and it would be hard to figure out what to do about reins of course.... Would you like to ride a Mabari?

Not...really. Getting out of the Frostbacks was something I always wanted to do, though! I don't like the snow. I mean, it looks like, but I hate being cold all the time. Orzammar was a LOT warmer.
I want to go to Denerim someday, though! I heard it's like Orzammar for humans. And that dwarves live there, too. It would be a lot different than these villages!
Who wouldn't? Well you're probably too tall, but that's not your fault, and you already have a horse to ride. Do you think it needs reins? What do reins do, anyway? Don't you just need a place to hold on?

Yeah, there are dwarves in Denerim, I've met a few of them. And it's usually not cold either. In Denerim, when it snows, it doesn't stay white for long...
Well, the reins are traditionally for steering the horse...um, or...hound. But if you tried riding a Mabari, I don't think it would go anywhere but where itself wanted anyway.

Now I have to go there! After we finish saving the world, of course.
I heard Mabari are really smart. Maybe I could just tell it where to go! I need to try this, now.
