Most of the arrows I had with me when I got here are carbon alloy, but I've been making some wooden ones. I've got a few magnesium flares, but I'll probably need to make some more of those too- vampires are pretty flammable, right?

Any point in stopping by a church for some holy water? I'm working off the movies here, I've never actually fought vampires before.

All this probably should seem a lot weirder to me, shouldn't it?

I have an team member who just arrived in Los Angeles with his five year old daughter, Lian. She would have just been finishing up her kindergarten year back home. I heard you run a school over at the Hyperion and while I don't know your age ranges, I was wondering, if you're willing, if maybe I could secure a space for her-- possibly into the summer. I would have told her father that I could enroll her in a private school, but Lian has been the victim of kidnapping and attempting kidnapping more times than some JLA members.

Unfortunately our own team is hardly suited for childcare (I admire him greatly, but I would never leave my five year old with Batman). Her father wants her somewhere safe, and I trust the Hyperion.

In the interest of full disclosure:

The LAPD has the Joker in custody. Given that the Joker being in police custody rarely works in our favour, I've coerced gotten the department to agree to release him into our custody until I'm satisfied on the security measures they've taken up before letting him anywhere near a courtroom for acquittal. We have the facilities that I'm convinced are needed to keep him locked in. This is not a case of incarceration without cause. The LAPD knows he's here, he'll be treated as well as he deserves, Miranda Rights read, and three squares a day. All of that.

He just won't be going to trial until I'm satisfied, and that's not open for discussion.

My team has a series of holding cells. Humans only for now, but now that I know they're working and ready to actually be used, I'm willing to expand on that. It was important to have the basics covered first.

Point: This place is open, fully operational, located at [address], impenetrable, inescapable, and open for others to use --within reason-- if wanted. We're the good guys, but sometimes we all have to have a place to store skeletons and dirty laundry. This is ours.

Right, owning a Gulfstream in a city you can't leave is completely pointless. This place really cuts down on the fun toys.
