I'm happy to share that the island now has one new resident! Phillip James was born yesterday and both he and Natasha are doing well. Just check in with Nat or myself before stopping by in the next couple of days, just to make sure we're up for visitors. I freely admit to wanting to monopolize my son's time for a couple of days.

I woke up this morning to the sound and smell of rain and realized that besides that snow we had here a while back, I couldn't remember that last time experienced a natural rain shower. Though I guess one could argue that this might not be completely natural itself, seeing as how I bet Arva and the other gods are in complete control of the weather.

After everything, it would be nice to build a society of peace instead of one wrought from war and death. And Lexa is gone...

You're avoiding You at your place? I've got something to show you.

It's been a long time since I've lived a life lacking structure like this one days. The moment I joined Starfleet, everything became pretty rigid and controlled, even when I was in control. Now I'm not saying that we need any kind of control around here because that would probably defeat the purpose, but I do think it's not a bad idea for me to introduce a little more structure into my own life. If anyone's got any ideas how to do that, I'm listening.

Christopher Allen Chapel was born early this morning at the Medical Center. We're both fine and if anyone wants to stop by and meet him, we're at home. He's pretty damn amazing.

Who's got two thumbs and two kegs of really good beer? THIS GUY! Oh yes! Nick's Tavern is OPEN FOR BUSINESS AGAIN!!!

In about a week, I'll be a father. I can't decide if I'm excited or scared to death. I'm going to go with a little bit of both.

Add me to the list of newcomers from the Enterprise. I'm Hikaru Sulu but most people just call me Sulu. I guess that's about all I can think of say.

I must have done something to please the gods. I woke up in a bed this morning and I got two outfits to boot. I'm sure everyone was sick of my black tank top and sports bra. God knows I was.

I have some big news! Before she left, Lagertha taught me how to make cheese. I've been working on it and the first couple of times, it didn't turn out that well but this time I got it right so we have fresh goat cheese in the frig in the Community Center if anybody wants some. Pepper, I will personally make you a grilled goat cheese sandwich if you still want one.

Also, do any of the docs know anything about goats? One of them is acting strange. She's usually really gentle but today she tried to kick me when I went to mil her. So any ideas about why we suddenly have a bitchy goat?

How wonderful it is to be here, in this place so like Themyscira that I find myself expecting to see my mother at every turn. In the same breath, I am thanking the gods that she's not here. I am most looking forward to relaxing, enjoying the sunshine, and getting to know all of you better.

As much as I actually enjoyed a few days shut in with the snow, I'm enjoying the sunshine much more.

I've decided to be done with my shelter. I was able to get a simple lean-to up between two trees and a hammock strung between. It's such a wonderful feeling, sleeping out there in the open, in the fresh air. It's wonderful.

This place ain't bad, I guess. Nice to have some solid ground under my feet for awhile.
