Oh, no, it's not all, also... uh... you're all wonderful people and so I'm currently working on developing a speaker system to see if we can't amplify some music from my large library of music currently stuffed in the memory banks of my Spider-Armor. But I also figured we could use around the main community (not on people's homes) for paging or, I don't know, moooooooore music. Or even a cool, obnoxious siren every time we have a weird snowstorm.

But also, because it could help people find the place easier if they just randomly appear and, like me, are totally lost.

The other day when Felicity was talking about making a calendar, it got me thinking...

We're not on earth, right? The stars are different, so we seem to be on another planet.
If we're on another planet, do we even know how long a year is? It's probably not exactly the same.

I propose a project to track the sun and find out how many days a year is here. We can also try to figure out when the solstices and equinoxes are.

I'm going to need some help, especially from someone with more of a math and science background. I can do the observations, but the calculations are probably way beyond me.

Any volunteers?

How big is this island? How far has anyone gone walking around it? I was considering taking an expedition. An exploratory one, of course. I have no use for looking for ways off or other people outside of our community, however I have grown a bit tired of the same path and sights day in and day out.

I have completed my first trimester! I am grateful that my clothes are normally so loose, but now i fear even they are not going to last for very much longer. I will have to let out the seams soon, I think.

Man, all these people having the same argument that I had in my world, but totally not knowing them, and yet totally knowing them, is kind of like watching a really trippy Oliver Stone flick. Which means something to some people.

Then all the other people having babies, and me being super awkward around babies... does anyone want to do any actual like, hanging out? Away from all that? I feel like we're one big happy family, and I'm the loner brother hanging out in his room all day playing WoW. Which I'm totally not, only because it's super not available around here.

Would any of the hunters here tell me what sort of game animals we have on the island? I miss my furs. I'm thinking about making a stole, or perhaps sewing some fur to the collar of one of my dresses. I realize that it is quite warm here and that a stole is probably impractical, but it does get cooler at night. Besides, after last month's surprise snow storm, I suppose it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Fox is my favorite, though I have not seen any here yet. Mink would be my second choice. If you can hunt and skin it and give me the pelt, I will try to repay you in some way for your time and effort.

I've felt the influence of divine all my life; there is ichor from the Sky King himself in my veins and my own brothers adorn the night sky. I have been to the bed of a son of Poseidon and felt Cytherea's claws hooked deep in my ragged heart. Mighty are the gods, then, who rule this isle and whose limits outstrip Olympus.

What offerings do they require and where are their temples? Were I given lend of a bow I could bring down a bull for sacrifice at the altars.

I'M A DAD!!

Glykeria Melissa McCall was born late last night. Mom and baby are doing great.

I had such breakthroughs in nanotech with my company before coming here, but unfortunately I didn't bring any, they'd really help in some of this situation. I don't know why I brought it up, something to talk about I suppose.

At any rate, I think I have some rudimentary plans with the materials we have here to build solar panels for use in electricity beyond the main camp. And for backup energy when necessary. They won't be as pretty as what you're all used to, but they'll do the job. It'll take a bit to build them, especially enough to do anything worth while.

The other idea I had came about because of this storm. It just occurred to me, that we're not really well prepared for any natural disasters. Now snow wouldn't be one I would have put in my top ten for a Tropical Island so maybe we should think of a lot more than these, but my first initial thoughts were Hurricanes, Tsnuamis, and earthquakes. It's also very plausible that a volcano exists somewhere on this Island, and so I think we should come up with a plan for any of these disasters, instead of scrambling. Creating a working seismograph wouldn't be too difficult, if I had some of more tech help, you know who you are, and if we could manage to grab a computer or two. I know Chloe has one, but I figure there might be one or two more.

What the Kriff? Okay seriously. I DO NOT LIKE SNOW. I hate snow. Excuse me while I just freeze to death. I've never seen snow before or been in weather this cold. Or close to this cold. I don't know what to do.

Chloe hates me. Either that or the pregnancy hormones have finally sent her off the deep end.

She told me to stay away. Should I? Or should I try to apologize? even though I'm not sure I did anything wrong

Hello! My name is Ella and I have just arrived on the Island. Is it typically so cold? Lady Arva said my skills would be needed here, as I can cook without modern conveniences. I'm not quite sure exactly what she meant, but I do wish to be helpful however I can. I understand part of my duties included having children, and I am happy to do so with whomever is willing. I have no practical skills in the matter, but I am a quick learner I assure you.

I thought this was supposed to be some kind of tropical island but it looks like I've been dropped off on a snow planet. Anyone have any idea how I'm supposed to get in touch with Arva so I can get to the right place because this can't possibly be it.

I would much rather be at the Medical Center helping get things ready for the babies BUT I've been told I need to keep warm and not worry. Which I hate because I would rather be busy. Thankfully I found some yarn so I am knitting baby hats. Babies lose a lot of heat through their heads so they'll need them when they're born if this snow keeps up.

I'm nearly finished with the ones for the three babies due this week. Anyone else who is expecting, I'm happy to make you one too. The yarn is all white so I hope that's okay. If anyone knows anything about dying it, that would be nice and we could have some colors to choose from.

We may have a problem.

There is no source of heat in the medical center. We have three expectant mothers who are due to give birth this week. If the snow keeps up, we'll need to figure out how to safely deliver those babies and keep both the mothers and the infants warm.

I'm thinking we can probably build a fireplace in at least one or two of the exam rooms in the next day or two if we work together. Barry's willing to help and he's got super speed on his side. I don't want to panic any of the women and Christine is also expecting, so she needs to stay somewhere warm too.

Oh COME ON man. I sign up for tropical paradise, and now I'm dealing with snowy conditions. You can take the spider out of New York, but you can't take the New York out of spider... or whatever. I'm about to go put on my tights, super insulated.

If anyone wants a lift from their shelter to the community center and doesn't mind a little potential motion sickness, let me know. I'll be happy to do some runs back and forth with my speed. I can also gather firewood and other things that we need.

This island is unlike anywhere I've ever been.

London has its fog, all of England its rain. New York its grit and grime. Crisp and chill in the Soviet Union. A different kind of lovely in Italy.

Here, however, I've never felt air so fresh and felt a more comfortable breeze. In this moment it feels a little like I've spent the last decade working up to now, when I can close my eyes, breathe in deeply, and take a moment (finally) for myself.

Goodness, I have no idea what I'm going to do with myself.
