Okay, so this is super weird but I woke up yesterday remembering more than I did today. Like, a lot more.

What do people remember from back home. Does anyone remember the Dread Doctors? The Dead Pool? Teenage Derek...?

Dude. I'm about to have a panic attack. I woke up to find Malia in bed with me this morning.

How are you feeling?

The most brilliant collection of medical supplies has appeared in the triage tent, along with the ability for me to take notes on all my patients. Once I have everything set up I would like to ask all the women that are pregnant to stop by the triage area. I will be conducting blood tests to ensure there are no anomalies in your blood.

I'll be starting medical charts for all residents so we will need to run a complete panel on everyone. Do not worry, all information is confidential and will remain private and secure.

I will be sending out more information as soon as everything is organized.

Lydia seems really down and I want to do something to try and cheer her up but I don't know what. Does anyone have any suggestions? She's still having trouble with food.

And don't suggest that I ask her what she wants because she got mad at me for doing that.

Hey, if I wanted to crash elsewhere tonight, would you be okay on your own? I mean, you can always use those two way radios to call me if you need me to come back.

Hellooo everybody! So I was walking around to see what I could find today and I found some wheat growing not too far from here. I grabbed a whole bunch and brought it back, so. We have wheat. Yay!

I can probably make flour with it but it's going to take a really long time, unless I can maybe borrow the coffee grinder I saw someone had gotten? If not that's fine! I can try to grind it by hand, it'll just take a while. And then, since we have chickens now, we have eggs, and when we have eggs and flour, we have yummy things!

It just seems like tension is high so I was thinking about making a big cake for all of us as a little treat. I know I've seen strawberries and other berries around here that we can use to sweeten it, and we can probably get away with using coconut milk instead of regular milk, which will add more of a sweetness as well. I would need something to pour it in but I can bake it over an open fire, that's not a problem at all. If people are interested, I mean. If no one really thinks they want it I can just make little cakes and muffins instead for myself and a few others.

To those of you who still don't have beds, if you've been having trouble sleeping I'm sure that we can start building hammocks for you or something. It's looking like everybody might get one eventually? I don't want to assume but they're coming in waves, it's weird.

I also feel like we should start trying to do more little stuff to show the gods and goddesses we appreciate what they're doing for us. I'm kind of coming up with a blank for suggestions though... I'm not usually the guy who comes up with the ideas. Any suggestions? They don't seem like he kind who would be too thrilled with sacrifice so I think it's safe to say that's off the table.

Except for the scary one. He'd probably be up for it.

You're probably frustrated today. I'm sorry. You don't have to respond, I just wanted to let you know that I left something for you by the waterfall a little north of us. It's kind of awful and it's the third one I tried to make since I saw you and I know you probably can't use it and I know it's stupid I just thought you'd like it, maybe. You don't have to take it if you don't want to.

MALIA.
I think the gods gave me these prenatal vitamins, I found them. I want you to start taking them, okay? They'll be good for you and the baby. How are you feeling? I wanted to know if you would be up for seeing one of the doctors, just for a check up. I've been talking to them but I don't want to make any solid plans until I know if you'd prefer a male or a female doctor.

Right, so, apparently digging for twelve fucking hours will wear out even a werewolf's arms. Can't one of you genius types come up with some kind of machine for that? Damn.

Still, we made some progress although at this rate I don't see us getting anywhere very fast.

On my way back from the waterfall I found some strawberries growing. 'Fraid I can't get them dipped in chocolate the way you like but would you like me to bring some by?

Music. I'm starting to realize that one of the few things I really miss here is music. Working 12 hour days would probably be a lot less demanding if we actually had something to help us unwind at night.

I wanted to reach out to you, because I've never done this before...like, been pregnant, I mean, and I'd feel a lot more comfortable having a female as a primary physician, but it seems like, so far, the medical team is largely a boys club. Do you have much experience with obstetrics...?

You know, what we need is a way to get water from the waterfall into camp. You know, plumbing of some sort. There's gotta be someone who has the smarts to do that. I'm not wild about walking into the woods in the middle of the night to take a piss.

So it looks like in addition to a most-appreciated bed, our gods left me some razors this morning.

Since I've never actually used them before, if anyone else has greater need, they're certainly welcome to a few. It's hard to appreciate Sex Island when I keep running into things twelve year olds have figured out

I need to make friends who didn't grow up where I did. Like yesterday.

I started working on a side project a little while back and then I got sidetracked and kind of...stopped? I know it's not anything we need, but the meat is really gamey and I was taking salt water from the ocean and then evaporating the water to try to collect the salt for seasoning. Would anybody want to help me with that project? I feel like that's something I can do and not screw up but it'd go faster with more hands.

Or, to the contrary, is there anyone who thinks they've got a project I could be helpful with that would be higher up the chain of priorities? Because I'd be okay with that, too.

I've never done anything like this before, but, well, this place is different from home, so here goes.

I'm Barry, for those of you that I haven't met yet. I'm 27 and back home I worked as a CSI for the Central City Police Department. I'm also a superhero who doesn't feel very heroic these days. The whole casual sex thing is kind of new for me. So, would anyone be interested in maybe getting together?

Well, arriving soaked in a storm was... not the entrance I was hoping to make earlier.

But all in all? Probably not the worst I've ever done.

Anyone else notice how it rained and is raining everywhere BUT on the main camp today?

Briseis taught me how to make stew from the rabbits his morning and we made a huge pot. So if people are hungry, it's in the main camp.
