Scorpius was inside the home of a married couple. He was dressed in a silk magical robe, a combination of green and black. He had a serpent ring on his finger. He also wore leather pants and boots. There was a woman on the floor, knocked out but unharmed. A man was in a chair, with.. ropes? Around his wrists and ankles. But it was odd, the bonds seemed neon blue, and sort of transparent as though made of light and vapor.
The man was glaring, "I swear, if you hurt her.."
Scorpius laughed. "You silly muggles. Begging, threatening on her behalf, when it's your fate that needs to have more concern. Now. Down to business." He grabbed a chair, quickly sitting down in front of him. "You're involved in a trial with one Mr. Donaldsen. The people who represent him in that case, I also represent those people. Do you really want to endanger your family?"
Seriously, the firm had connections. Not just physical. They had access to other dimensions and a shitload of magical power. They could use the mob to kill this couple. Or "legal" means to have the bank foreclose their home. Or have a mystic make it so that the woman really believed she was a child abuser, and that the man was a killer, creating chaos in the household. But this.. this way was better. To handle it without the press. It was why he was here.
The young wizard just shook his head at the man. "You saw what I did. You feel your binding. You know it can't be broken. I'm magic. And I swear to God, if you mention Harry Potter or the word fictional in your next breath, I will personally kill you and then use the Crucatus curse on your woman.. several times." He paused. "But.. if you fail to cooperate? I could erase your memories. Maybe all of them.. see, I'm not experienced in that. I could accidentally make you forget more than I'd want to."
The man nodded fast, beads of sweat on his face. This had all gotten out of hand. The police and DA, they'd all said it was safe. Their new home was a secret. But how had they been found? And this young man. He was dangerous. And powerful. He had no explanation for how those things were done except magic. "What.. what, err.. what do you want? Please don't hurt us. Please.." He seemed on the verge of a breakdown.
Scorpius replied, "Withdrawl from the trial. Don't even call to let them know." Because really, that would add to questions and this had to be done quiet and private. "Just pack your bags and leave tonight." He took a stack of $100 bills and set them on the coffee table beside them. "You will change your names and buy a home on the other side of the country. No one will know you are gone. And do not ever have anything to do with this case."
There was a long pause. The man gulped, looking to his wife, before slowly looking back at the man in front of him. "Alright. But how do I know-"
"You don't," Scorpius said. "It's either this... or more suffering. Possibly death. Maybe both. I don't think you're in a position to bargain. And.. ah, Hell with it. This is the only way to make sure." He pointed his wand. "Imperio!"
The man's eyes went blank, his body stopped squirming in fear. He stared straight ahead.
Scorpius spoke then. "You will do all that I have asked a moment ago. You will leave. And you will never look back. Cut off all ties to all you know here. And do it fast. If your wife protests and asks questions.. well, okay, I can fix that too." Because really, it'd be risky to leave it all in this dumb muggle's hands. He walked over and cast a charm to awaken her.
The woman sat right up, shocked and surprised, and glaring at the blond male. "You.. how dare you... this is illegal, you think you can just come in here-"
"Obliviate!" He yelled loudly, focusing his full intent. She'd likely forget the past month or year. He saw her gasp and look around confused. Then he turned to the man. "You will pack immediately and leave within the hour. You will also see to it that your wife is secure, safe, and.. not a problem for the client." He cast Finite Incanteum, pointing at the ropes. "Do it now."
The man's eye's had that blank look. But he'd gotten up fast, grabbed the money and went to his room. Scorpius could hear movement in the room, hear zippers opening, objects being moved quickly. He smiled with satisfaction. This was very good. He used his Blackberry to send an internet fax to Wolfram and Hart. He gave the exact ID number of this case and stated that it was resolved. Which was code for: the remaining witnesses are no longer an issue. That part done, he strolled out the front door and walked down the street, preparing to apparate away as soon as he was away from all these rich muggle folks...
