WHO: Prince Zuko & Katara WHAT: uh...bonding? WHEN: March 29th, night-ish WHERE: Hyperion, Zuko's room RATING: TBA STATUS: incomplete
Lightning flashed outside his window as Zuko typed back responses to Mai and Ty Lee on his laptop, which was perched in front of him on the bed. The lightning was the only source of natural light that the city had seen in a great while. Part of him was almost drawn to the light, but the rain that fell from the sky and the booming that sounded from the clouds kept him at bay. He turned his attention back to the laptop, submitting a response to the message board, before closing the screen and drumming his fingers lazily on the top.
It was odd, having to consider Mai and Ty Lee enemies. He never really saw them as much--after all, he'd played with both of them as a child and knew how his sister could get people to do things. Part of him suspected that the only reason they stuck around her, was because of her powers of persuasion and intimidation. He felt...bad for them, yet felt he could do nothing. He didn't want to get either of them in trouble with Azula, so he kept his mouth shut when it came to suggestions like, "just leave" and "forget Azula."
No, that would cause trouble.
Especially if his hunches were wrong and they were both as twisted as his sister deep down and side. Though, somehow, that was hard to imagine. He doubted cheery Ty Lee had an evil bone in her body, and Mai...well, she wasn't what she seemed. Of course, he was one of the few who actually knew that. And he felt terrible for having mislead her...he'd convinced himself he was attracted to her in that way while back home, but had come to realize that he'd only been attracted to the fact that someone actually wanted him around. Despite it all, he thought of her as a friend...even though they had an interesting past and were sitting on opposite sides. Ty Lee, too.
He set the laptop aside and fell back against the pillows with a groan, casting an arm over his eyes to block out the artificial light from the bulb above.
