Who: Tori and Jack
What: a break!
When:October 19th, the afternoon.
Where: The beach then probably her apartment
Warnings: should be low.

Daytime. He was going out in the daytime. Jack almost couldn't remember the last time he went out in the afternoon before the sunset. He supposed it was kind of necessary for learning how to surf. He wasn't even that great at swimming, he had only been to the beach once. Hey it wasn't his fault he lived in the middle of the city. He had a red tank top and pair of black and red lined board shorts on. But he still couldn't believe he was doing this. Mostly he couldn't believe that he'd let her talk him into doing this. It was a good thing. Getting out of that apartment sometimes. Sky had been acting like he had a stick up his ass and Jack had done nothing to deserve it this time. So he was giving himself a time out before he said something he'd regret. Not in the traditional time out sense, but he wasn't a very traditional ranger to begin with so he was lucky that way.

Still grumpy over the last thing Sky had done, he waited at the beach for the wind ranger. Arms all folded and looking more like he was standing at attention than relaxing and soaking in the Los Angeles sun. He kicked at a small pile of sand and winced as it came back at him. Great. Even the sand wanted to fight. It was probably a good thing that Jack didn't have his blasters on him or there might have been a very amusing scene of Jack Vs. Sand Pile for Tori to witness. He had his morpher, but nothing else weapon wise. He was determined to have a day off. His morpher was his security blanket. He went nowhere without it. The amount of panic he'd had when he thought he lost it in the alley after the scourge was almost unbearable. Leaving it at home was a non-option. Military regulations and all. He wasn't very military about anything, except his morpher. Sky could attest..his apartment wasn't cleanly. His room was definitely not up to standard. But his morpher was something he never left home without. Even to the beach.

He'd been wanting to see Tori for a while. Now that everyone was home and safe it was the perfect opportunity. He had no more excuses.

To say Tori was excited to teach Jack how to surf might have been an understatement. It had been a while since Tori had hit the waves, what with everything that had been going in the city.

Tori hit the beach in a short wetsuit and a surfboard tucked under her arm. This was going to be good, oh yes. She just hoped Jack was at excited as she was. Then again, she was the professional surfer. Catching sight of Jack, Tori picked up the pace until she reached him.

"Hey. You ready for some fun?"

Jack almost didn't hear Tori coming until she was up closer with her surfboard and he gave her a slightly nervous look. "Now or never." He responded simply though he was a little worried. Not so sure his swimming abilities were up to par. He hadn't been out in deep water before, not even in a pool. But he didn't mention it just yet. He didn't feel like looking stupid infront of someone practically raised in the water. The water looked a little intimidating from where they stood, but maybe once they actually got in it wouldn't be so bad anyway.

Tori smiled, in an attempt to reassure Jack. "There's nothing to worry about, trust me." She wasn't going to start him off with difficult practices, not by a long shot.

"We can start off in the shallow water, or heck, even on land. I know the easier of the two usually depends on the individual. Whatever you feel up to is fine by me, Jack."

Jack was typically one to jump in head first, but water? So not his element. He didn't know any red rangers who mixed with it, blue yes, pink, maybe. Syd hadn't looked half bad in it the one time..except she hated it, said the salty water had ruined her hair, and it was funnier than it was skill to look at.

"I think I'd feel kinda like an idiot surfing on sand." He added with a small impish smile, he knew some people did it that way but for him it was easier if there was water actually there. Though he looked at her "..Nothing's gonna eat me is it?" He'd have to remember to glare at Bridge later for putting that idea in his head.
