Who: Jacen Solo and Eve
What: Poking a former Sith Lord.
When: Any time in the last 24 hours!
Where: Wolfram and Hart
Rating/Warning: High- there's poking of a former Sith Lord! Unpleasantness!
Status: In progress

Jacen was irritated. Unfortunately, not yet angry. The treatment was always just an annoyance, shocks designed to distracted not cause him pain. And he needed the pain, needed it to break through the haze caused by the drugs still in his system. Thanks to the Vong and the Embrace of Pain, he gained strength through pain. But it seemed Eve knew that and kept him too out of it to call on the Force.

He never thought he would find time in this city to cling onto what Vergere had done to him. His feelings towards the Fosh were complicated, she had in so many ways destroyed him and set him on the path towards becoming Caedus, but at the same time she had given him a strength and a perspective he had never had before, something the Jedi Academy had always lacked.

"Everything I tell you is a lie. Every question I ask you is a trick. You will find no truth in me."
"Is it what the teacher teaches or what the student learns?"

Vergere had taught her lessons well, and Jacen suspected that Eve could learn a lot from her in the ways of manipulation and trickery. If Eve truly believed she could create a Sith she could control in Jacen Solo, then she was terrifyingly deluded. It had taken a decade of crafting, by both Vergere and Lumiya to create Darth Caedus and both had given their lives as part of it. War and loss had played big parts in his fall to the Dark Side and Jacen very much doubted that Eve had either the time or the skills needed to make him walk such a path again.

But what she could do was hurt his family. His wife, his daughter, and those he had grown to care about in Los Angeles like Sarah and Xander, Xander who he held no grudge against, the younger version anyway. The older one who had betrayed him would be having words with him as soon as he was freed. And he had no idea what was happening to Sam, locked away in another room. While he believed not in any almighty God, he still prayed to whoever may have been listening that the younger man would be able to resist Eve's temptations. Both for himself and for Faith and the rest of the Winchester family, who Jacen both liked and respected.

Gritting his teeth against another shock, he strained against the holds that were not breaking as he took comfort in reciting both the codes of the Sith and of the Jedi in his head.

Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.

There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force.

He was no longer simply Jedi or Sith, but the Balance of the two, passion and peace, strength and serenity. That was something it seemed that Eve would never understand.

Eve wasn't sure what to do, with Sam or Jacen or any of it anymore, Lindsey had confused her again, there was nothing to gain by walking away. Lindsey would never love her. But all the same it was the thought in her head as she walked into the room where they'd kept Jacen Solo. Locked up all tight and kept from using the Force. But beyond that she hadn't really gotten anywhere with him. Beyond that he'd been maddeningly calm. Except when it was about the wife and daughter.

"She didn't come willingly you know" she started, deciding to try a new tactic as she entered the room "A girl that all but grew up in LA, she knew how to fight back. But we got her"

She moved to a nearby seat

"Because I realised what might hold Sam back. He knows Tenel Ka, knows what she looks like, knows how close she is to his little Slayer tramp. Does he know your daughters face?, We'll see soon enough I suppose. Not that it'll be your daughter he meets. Those demons from his world are so entertaining."

And then she was back again. Jacen scowled as he looked up at her, his gaze just slightly unfocused thanks to the drugs being pumped through his veins.

The mere idea that Wolfram and Hart might hurt his daughter caused a wave of fury and just for a moment he wasn't sure if there wasn't a flash of red and yellow in his eyes. But he had other tricks than the Force on his side. He was also a Colonel and the former leader of an entire galaxy, and GAG. Interrogating prisoners had been his specialty and he was more than a little experienced at reading people in other ways. Like their body language.

"You're lying," he sneered at her. "You don't have Allana. And even if you did, Sam won't break. He wouldn't break if it was someone he knew or a stranger."

And besides, if Allana did truly grow up in Los Angeles, she would know how to defend herself against many things. And given how close she seemed to be with Ben Winchester- and oh didn't that thought nearly make Caedus come back- she would know all about the types of demons from the Winchester's world. Maybe even have one of those tattoos. Not that Jacen Solo liked the idea of Allana having a tattoo and really, he rather hoped she didn't, but even so.

"What are you even wanting to get from this, Eve?" He asked, almost tiredly. "Because really, I'm getting bored."

He was doing it again, intimidating her. She really really didn't like him. Of course she was lying. Allana was protected annoyingly well, and she knew she'd never have gotten Jacen without Xander's help.

"You and Sam. You're powerful and unpredictable, and recently enough down off of a decidedly darkside time in your lives. What do you think I wanted?"

Yes, wanted, Eve still did, of course she did, that level of power, that level of raw destruction that she knew resided in both men, particularly the one before her now. Who wouldn't want to control that?. And she wanted the Partners to approve of her. To let her stay here. Almost on cue though her phone beeped, she looked just enough to see that it was Lindsey before she looked down at the floor momentarily before finding her focus again.

"How do you know he hasn't already. How do you know blood hasn't passed his lips already?"

It had. He hadn't swallowed it annoyingly, hence why she'd changed her shoes, but Solo didn't know that.

"How do you know he didn't bleed your daughter dry?"

Oh how typical. She wanted power. She wanted to play with the two of them and try to control them. That wasn't exactly known for ever going well no matter who tried it.

Jacen shook his head with a bitter laugh. "I'm almost disappointed in you, Eve. I would have expected a little more originality."

It was a stinging thought, the idea that maybe, just maybe, she was right and Allana was dead. And with his connection to the Force so taken from him, Jacen couldn't even reach out for that brief moment of reassurance. But what he could do was go back to what he knew. And what he knew was how Ruby had controlled Sam into drinking her blood.

Because he wanted to save the people he loved. Because he wanted to hurt those who hurt them. It may have changed him, may have made him colder, crueler, may have made Faith even cry on Tenel Ka's shoulder about it all, but even with that, he could trust in one thing.

And so he smirked at Eve. "Because if Sam had drunk a demon's blood, if he had that power in him again, you wouldn't be standing here. You really think that he'll become your little lap dog if you give him those abilities again? No, he'll do exactly what I would do, rip the head off the bitch getting in his face. That's how I know he hasn't bled anyone dry."

"And how do you know he didn't. I am immortal you know. Do you think I didn't expect a reaction like that from Sam. But you'd be suprised how pliant that blood makes him, needs more and more and more. So I ask again. How do you know your pretty little Allana is even still alive. You wouldn't put it past us to do it would you. And we grabbed you. We grabbed Sam. We turned one of your own against you, you saying we couldn't do it again. What about if we offered you, if Allana came willingly? She's just noble enough to do it right?."

She didn't know why she was still pushing. She was going to meet Lindsey, Solo would go back to his wife and his kid. She supposed she was still trying, still wishing and praying that the partners would give her a sign they were proud. Another chance. But her only chance was Lindsey, she knew it. She knew it and she both loved and hated that it had come to this.

"Want me to get more original?" she asked him again, she wasn't able to look him in the face anymore. She didn't entirely understand why. He was so focused on his wife and child, So convinced they were safe, maybe he needed to believe that. She didn't understand him.

"Because you'd be a lot more cranky if you had to regrow a head," Jacen shrugged, as much as he could with the restraints. "And besides, Sam's stronger than you. He hasn't given in, he won't."

He practically yawned, before another shock stopped him. The discomfort, the irritation. It would slowly drive him mad if it didn't end. "My daughter is still alive. And she wouldn't do anything as stupid as trust you enough for a trade. She's a smart girl, smarter than you are and she also knows quite how much she will be grounded if she even thought of doing anything like that, so why don't we stop with the attempts at mind games, Eve? They're boring."

He shifted in the chair, at first trying to get comfortable before he realized she was no longer looking at him. And then it just amused him as he tried to make her meet his gaze.

"Yes, original. No more mind games because they don't work. Eve, you have no idea what you are trying to unleash, with either of us. I have seen the Boy King. Not what Ruby managed to do here, but what she wanted to create. And he would have you in chains for his amusement. And Caedus? Caedus stood over a world and made it burn. Do you really believe even your Senior Partners could control either of those?"

What was it with this insuffrable good guy attitude, everyone was so brave and strong and couldn't be broken, everyone would keep fighting so people like her would never win. She didn't understand it and she hated what little she did understand.

But her mind games didn't seem to work on the former Sith and it bothered her more than she let on.

"I know the Partners could control even Caedus with the right incentive, and Sam, well the incentives easy isn't it, just keep feeding him demons and everything would be alright. I know what I'm trying to unleash and I know I'd come out of it well. Whoever else, well thats just how life is isn't it. I'd be fine, and the Partners would be proud of me Why would I care about anyone else."

Well that was a lie too of course, she cared about Lindsey, the phone with whatever message was there was still burning a hole in her pocket. He was saying run to him. Hide from the Partners. He said he would help her.

She just had to let her prizes go.

Jacen shook his head with a small, almost sad smile. "No, you couldn't. The Partners couldn't control someone like Caedus." Sometimes it really did feel odd to talk about himself in that sense. Like Caedus was a separate person, which he both was and wasn't. It was confusing.

"There is no incentive for someone like him. To unleash that level of power, of darkness, there is nothing the Partners could offer him that he would want."

He sat back, almost as if he was comfortable, watching her closely.

"The Boy King is, in a way, very similar to what Caedus was. Different powers, yes, and certain elements varied, but at the core of him, he was the same. The same raw strength. And the same coldness. The same need to be in control. So, no, the Partners would not be able to control either and it is foolish of them to even try."

He would have continued on, before he paused. There was an Earth saying, as if someone had walked over his grave, a strange tingling down his spine. He frowned as he tried, even through the drugs, to focus on the sensation that something had happened. "Oh I have a bad feeling about this," he muttered. Whatever had happened, it was more dire than anything in that room right then.
