No matter how obvious it was that he was stuck, Sam still kept on trying to fight his way free. Eve was already screwing around with Jacen, he really didn't want to stay put long enough to see what she had in store for him. Get free, knock the bitch out, get Jacen, run, run, run. Impossible at this moment, but if Sam could find a way, that was the game plan.
"Leave him alone," Sam growled out through clenched teeth. Jacen was confident, but Sam was not. This wasn't a demon off the street that they were dealing with. In fact, this wasn't even their every day baddie in general. Eve was highly affiliated with Wolfram & Hart the last he checked and those guys were the head honchos around here. They weren't dancing around the fire pit anymore, they were practically in it's belly waiting to be consumed by it's flames.
"I'm not," he finally replied, falling still again. Actually, he kind of was. Being knocked out and beaten down took a lot of out of him. He could have used a glass of water, but Sam knew that under that question lay all kinds of trouble. "You're wasting your time," Sam declared, drawing in a heavy breath, "we're not of any use to you. The others are gonna figure out that you've taken us and they'll find you. They'll find us."
He only half believed that statement. There was still that part of him inside carrying that heavy doubt that wondered if anyone at home would even bother trying after they had discovered who he was and what he had done. Perhaps they had just been putting up with him. Maybe they'd be glad - no. Sam let his head fall back, resting against the wall. He'd get out of here. He had to.
