Teddy Grahams and french vanilla icing. The snack idea kept invading her thoughts until Fred finally gave in and obeyed the craving. There was a box in one of the pantrys, an open container of icing in the fridge. She found both and in the quiet of the kitchen, seated herself on the floor, back against the counter. Opening the box, she fished out a teddy and dunked him in the icing, popping the sweet result into her mouth and chewing. Her eyes slid shut at the sugary taste.
The Scourge were gone and Angel was back. Those two things alone were cause for immense celebration and celebrate she had. There had been hugs as promised, catching up, joyful shouts, and smiles. But there was still that feeling in the pit of her stomach. In the rush of the Scourage appearing and taking over the city, she'd pushed her feelings aside to help dear friends and allies figure out a way to put an end to them. Now with that gone, she was missing Wesley worse than ever.
It wasn't fair that the Powers had decided to just return him when he was wanted here and she doubted she was the only one that felt that way about their higher sponsors. Lately, the PTB had been stepping on more nerves than they'd been soothing for a force of good. It seemed like there was tension in a few places because of the decisions they made, many of which Fred couldn't blame. She'd be cranky too.
Sighing, she fished out another cookie and gave it a look before sticking it in the icing. "You look way too happy for someone about to be eaten."
