Who: Static and Batman What: patrol? making Virgil's life When: Thursday evening, sundown. Where: the streets. warnings: TBA
The sun finally went down and the air began to cool. Not by much, but Virgil wasn't complaining. Any amount of cool was welcomed. Even if it was only a couple degrees. It made a difference. That was what he got for not accounting for weather when he designed his costume. At least he got to design it. Bart had his chosen apparently. Virgil wouldn't do well with chosen costumes. He refused all forms of spandex, and summer was why. He was all about the comfortable hip hop style.
The city was fairly quiet as far as vampires went. He didn't see any unusual activity on the streets as he flew over head on his static powered flying disk. He didn't go out for nothing. Using his powers Virgil tapped into the local police radio waves and picked up all kinds of noise. Almost enough to make him jerk back and want to pull away. It was L.A. What did he expect? When there wasn't vampire activity there was always crime. The slayers had a handle on the vampires and kept them in order, but that didn't keep a lid on the criminals.
Someone needed to keep an eye on them too. Static lowered the disk to the streets. By standers stopped to watch as he looked in all four directions of the intersection-hovering just above it. The radio said south on 5th, his eyes spotted a street sign claiming to be the 5th. Should be coming up any time now.
Staring at the traffic that all looked the same, he spotted it in the sea of chaos. A taxi cab and two armed men firing at police trailing not far behind, but not close enough to catch up. Guns..There was almost nothing he hated more. Virgil grinned and set his powers to a magnetic grab. The weapons were yanked from the startled hands of criminals and floated in mid air. "Now I know those can't be indoor friendly. "
