The zoo was basically Bruce's way of telling Terry he needed to get out more, that was the only explanation he had for being forced into going. Be with people his age and not hide away in the caves all night long like he had been doing. His ribs were practically healed and with them his confidence was starting to return along with his breathing ability. Breathing should not be hard work. The bruise on his face was gone, and he felt more like being outside. More like himself again. Being social. Except there was one problem. He really didn't know what kids in this century did for fun. Terry was eighteen and from the future. Had more freedom. So he thought anyway. Bruce probably didn't see it that way, he seemed to like playing the part of over protective father. Terry didn't mind it, most of the time. There were times it got under his skin, but he knew Bruce wouldn't do the things he did unless he cared. That was just what dads did. He might have had it a little rougher with his dad being the original Batman, rules a little stricter, but most of the time it was alright. Just made exploring a little difficult.
Terry had a frappichino in his hand as he walked the streets. Lost in thought, not really watching where he was going. Terry was actually glad it was summer. He wouldn't have to worry about home work for once..and hey he actually managed to pass all his classes. Except one. One out of seven wasn't bad. Better then he did back home. Usually it was a straight split. Three for three. Bruce wouldn't get to mad would he?..what else could he do if he did? Make him run his training program? Terry was already doing that. He wanted to be up to par with Bruce. Make him see that he wasn't just some kid playing dress up. That he took being Batman seriously and could handle everything that came with it. The suit was in a brown backpack slung over one shoulder. Just incase, sort of a security blanket. He was quickly learning that L.A. wasn't ever quiet for long.
Walking along a path in the park he suddenly wished he'd brought Dante or Ace along. He was surprised Ace stayed behind even when Max went back to their future. Watching people playing with their dogs he stopped in the grass and just listened to the sounds. Isolated every one of them. Could tell how many people were around him. For the first time in weeks he actually felt relaxed. His mind was easing from it's tortured mess. Weather it was being repressed or not was another issue, but he didn't fight it. For once he wasn't scared, or sick. He was dealing in his own way.
