Lindsey set the glass down on the desk and leaned forward, hands clasped in front of him like they were heavily engrossed in business. "Eve," he said, a lazy grin appearing, "I've got no alleigance to Angel Investigations. Not about to go pledging to the business that was started by the guy who wanted me dead." Not that he expected her to tell him anymore with that reassurance. He could always be lying.
"My alleigance goes to certain people. The number of which I can count on one hand." He held up his right hand and waggled the fingers to emphasize his point. "They just happen to have a common factor between them that might give the impression of alliegance." Even now that Cathy was joining their ranks, Lindsey kept his distance, chosing the grey area inbetween. Comfortable and familiar.
He shrugged. "I don't see why not. Two old friends bitching about the day's hard work."
