Maybe the girl he'd talked to on the boards was right, he needed to get out and not just at night time. Not just for school or Static. It'd been along time since Virgil was just out, doing nothing but enjoying a burger and being a teenage junk food loving zombie. "Foooood..Hungryyyy..." Virgil emphasized and attempted his best Zombie act as he followed the scent of burgers and fries to a local joint, smirking weakly as he stepped up to the counter and placed an order. Richie would have gotten the reference. He missed home and his best friend. Being stuck inside the Bradbury Building didn't help either. Lian had her dad, Terry had his. Bart had Clark who sort of acted all over protective and defiantly lectured like a parent, but once again Virgil was free falling. He didn't have anything like that. Bruce tried but it wasn't the same. He missed his family. His dad and his sister and his partner in crime. Of coarse if they ever asked he'd deny ever even thinking that. He was only fifteen. The longest he'd been away from home was a sleepover at Richie's that ended horribly in the middle of the night when he found out his best friend's father was a racist.
Virgil didn't mind the JLA most of the time. Bart was quickly becoming one of his best friends but he couldn't help but feel listless. He'd been gone from Dakota almost two months and barely saw the city he was supposed to be protecting. Virgil had a soda in his hand while he waited for his food. Was wearing his trademark red and yellow button down shirt, and baggy red pants. His dark eyes traveled around the restaurant. At least this city never lacked people to watch. The stream of them seemed almost never ending.
He heard his number and collected his burger. Outside. Someplace not so congested. So he thought. Virgil pushed through the crowd, some of them glared at his impatience and others just ignored him all together. Unwrapping the burger as he finally made it to the sidewalk outside, he watched traffic flood the streets. It was crazy. Did it ever just..stop? It was hot out. Car horns were blaring and Virgil could feel it. Something bad was going to happen. The atmosphere felt tense something to do with the electricity in his veins. Yeah, that had to be it. Virgil couldn't pull his eyes away while he distractedly ate his hamburger that suddenly didn't taste so good when he saw it. A traffic light was out. Two cars were headed straight for each other head on. "Aw man..come on." His brows furrowed as he waited till the last second.
Virgil dropped the food and ran for the edge of the street. He didn't have time to change. His hands reached out. Blinding light flooded the intersection, and both cars were pulled to a screeching stop. Steam rose from the hoods, the engines were fried. But the people were safe. He could feel eyes on him..what did you just do Virgil?! He froze like a deer in headlights. He'd been distracted but he didn't realize he was that distracted. He just used his powers infront of total strangers..
