In the end, Ben had decided this was all crazy. The crazy had started with stupid Ruby and stupid Sam and their stupid bloodsucking, world ending crap, but being yanked into wherever-they-were and listen to all of this had really taken the cake. As far as Ben was concerned, it hadn't really helped anything. His family was still going to be pissed Ruby was alive, Faith still probably wouldn't be around unless she was at Claire's and he was still just as grounded as before and without his hour of TV. Yeah, okay, the world wouldn't be ending, but he was still a ten year old, his 'world' could sometimes be quite myopic.
Of course, he was willing to award points for the chick saying he could speak, because the things he wanted to say ran the gamut – asking if they could check on his mom, requesting that it rain ice cream on Saturdays, thoroughly and creatively informing the powers how much he thought they sucked sometimes, recommending they play some Guitar Hero and loosen up, possibly hit on the chick because she was kind of a babe even though she didn't look completely human – of 'acceptable' to 'never say that'. But with Claire's hand firmly over his mouth and her good reflexes as he tried to evade her grip, it all stayed unvoiced.
So he settled for rolling his eyes eloquently and then winking at the female being.
