"I'm not offended." He held up his free hand as the candy was offered. Even though the man ate one himself, Eliot didn't know him and he wasn't about to trust what he offered. He'd spent too damn long in a business where everyone, no matter how cheerful, had the potential to do a lot of harm. "No thanks," he replied before taking a drink of tea.
